HELP! Time switch.

Hi all so I changed my light schedule from 18/6 to 12/12 on a timer but the time I put it on was 9pm to 9am I heard my light come on after 11 hours and 53 minutes (20:53) is this bad or will it be okay?
 
Yes I second a better timer. I use a mechanical cheap ass Chinese timer and it works like a Swiss clock. Maybe yours is broken or faulty
 
Okay thanks guy I think I will see how they go/grow and hopefully get though my first grow then invest in a better one. Btw it's a lumii heavy duty timer.
 
Yes then it must be just not working. Get a 5$ one and give it a try. The whole purpose of the times is so you don’t have to worry about the time
 
I'm kinda thinking, that, Maybe.... the operator was just high when it was set?

A seven minute difference (<1%) is NOT going to make a difference one way or the other.

My suggestion for timers is to get one that runs on a battery so it doesn't get thrown off by a power outage (and digital timers are more precise than the old clockwork types with programming pins you pull to set).

Thanks doc, big help takes a load off lol. After harvest I'll be sure to get a digital timer. The one I have now just come with the whole package like tent, light, extractor ect.
 
So you have the timer set from 9pm - 9am, lets say lights on is supposed to be from 9pm - 9am. So from what you said the light must be comimg on at 8:53pm, I bet if you check it turns off at 8:53am.
 
Hi Uncledoug that is what I thought so I stayed up all night the other day and the lights turned off at around 8:50am.
 
You have the same kind I use, pull tabs up for lights out, then turn the dial and line up the arrow to the current time. The little arrow isn't easy to line up. No big deal for me. Hope your grow goes great.
 
Yeah that's the one seems to be all good for now, white hairs coming getting excited lol. Thanks dude first time and pretty smooth ride tbh.
