HELP! Terpene smell while harvesting

Hello 👋
i just harvested my cannabis plant and i noticed strong smell when cutting the branch and stem . Is this smell of terpenes or just the normal smell of green plants ? And can this smell and aroma affect your body or your mind in any way ? I know it won’t make you “high” i just want to know if it has any affect on body at all

Yes it is the terpenes that you're smelling and they can definitely have an effect on your moods and stuff.
