T8 lighting

I was walking my dog behind the local acme and noticed a display case being discarded,it had flouresant lighting 4 two footers and two 4 footers,needless to say I took the dog home,grabbed some tools hopped in car went back and got them not expecting them to work. Much to my surprise all worked next step was to get the right tubes.I found them on amazon cheep about 2.50 a piece, I plan to use for veg. Wanted more blue than red TCLP 31017850 is the brand and part number.I know it's not T5 but for a total of about 30.00 it works better than I expected. Happy hippie here

Brilliant find Potted. It feels so much better to recycle and rebuilt than to just buy stuff off amazon.

I don't know a lot about fluoro tubes but from what I knew a few years back (technology may have changed since then) I think the t5 only have about 10 lumens per watt more than t8 and both bulbs last the same time. t8 tubes used to be cheaper too, not sure about now.

Yes thay are much cheaper than the T5's
