T5 Finisher bulbs

DrPhoton I was thinking of popping in 8 finisher bulbs in the T5 fixture and was wondering if I should use all 8 or use a mix of bloom bulbs as well as finisher.. the ones I have are agromax 10.000k What would be your advice.

Spectrum has no effect on plant morphology during the flowering process, its purely photosynthetic efficiency. Had the bulbs produced some amount of UV there would be some incentive. But a quick look at the products specification shows little to no UV production.

The color temperature of the bulb would likely not effect the photon efficiency due to the stokes shift. However, warmer temperatures may have a slightly higher photosynthwtic efficiency, but its really not large enough to worry about.

Ok thank you, I guess it will be a new light after all, possibly invest in a u.v. Tube, they’re quite cheap at 50 dollars per unit. Perhaps two four foot uv. T 5 units for a 4x4x7 would you say?

Im not really sure on the ideal UV levels. Would need to look at the amount of UV they produce and try and imitate the suns natural level and go from there.

Es, I was gonna go with two of the single bulb fluorescent uv, I can give you the model, but they seem only available from HTG. I was told by the man at the store he recommended two of them for this sized tent and only use em for 15 mins per hour on the 12/12 . I will go with an LED and add the two up tubes and let you know how it works out over the next four weeks.

UV is supposed to stimulate resin production, so i would use it on the last 2 or 3 weeks of flower. Not at the beginning. If they recommend two then i would go with that.
