Apparently the company that makes the bottled nutrients that I use has gone out of business and they won't be making it any more so I decided to try using dry amendments, since I already have some down to earth amendments I just bought a box of bio- live and a box of bone meal, going to get some soil made for my girls favorite strain to run outside this year,if anyone uses down to earth amendments I would love to hear what you do,is there anything else I need to get,I'm going to use the bio- live, bone meal, seabird guano, earth worm castings and langbianite, thanks in advance and happy growing!!
 
Also going to be using Epsom for magnesium and pro- mix, maybe some additional perlite
 
Been using grow dots and rain water for 3 grows now and the pH issues and tip burn has been at a minimum. The yield is a lot better but the time to get harvest ( ripe) is a bit longer. Taste is a lot better. The high is the same. Gaia Green is what I'm going to try next.
 
When I initially built my veggie soil i used down to earth. It’s good stuff. I use Gaia with my indoor grows though. Only thing I’d add is some magnesium sulfate (bath salt) and dolomite lime. I switched to dry amendments about a year ago and I’m not looking back!!
 
Do I need lime,bio- live has a bunch of good bacteria and fungi and stuff

The lime is a ph buffer yes, but also adds some food magnesium (and calcium to I think). If you don’t suffer from ph fluctuations you can skip and add a bit more bath salt.
 
I started my soil mix yesterday and I have a box of dolomite lime and a box of greenstone coming tomorrow, I'm really excited to get this grow going, I'm going to put the plants i have in the closet outside and run two glue sniffer in side,I made 30 gallons of soil and I only need about half of it,I think I might do a couple of auto flowers since I have plenty of beans
 
Still waiting on the delivery from Amazon, although I'm not looking forward to going outside today,55° and 40+ MPH winds, yikes 😳
 
Just got the dolomite lime and the greenstone,do any of you have any ideas on how much to use for 15 gallons of soil,I checked the pH yesterday and it was 6.6, the box says it raises the pH,or maybe I don't need it right now

I got the soil mixed up and filled two 7 gallon pots, I'll be running two glue sniffer for my girlfriend,we both really like it, but it's her favorite strain, I'll start them in small pots and transplant as needed,I hope the soil isn't too hot for the plants,I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens

Sorry for the late response Gator. I use 1/2 cup lime for 5gal of soil. I’ve never had issues with high ph but always found myself pulling ph up throughout the grow. The lime helps with that (or at least seems to lol)
 
Only one of the seeds that I had put in a paper towel germinated,so I put the last one in with it and hopefully it cracks,I guess I'll have to get a bigger pack when I order glue sniffer seeds again lol
 
The seed that germinated broke soil yesterday, it didn't look very good at first but it's doing well now, hopefully the two other ones crack, I'll have to put one outside if both crack, my plan is to grow two in the house

No just a nice fade. I use the light feed and get tip burn a little , probably the light. No nutes left on the pot either. That thick salty crust on the outside of the pot is not as noticable.
