Suggestions on rosin presses

My banger looks like crap from the first hit of whatever my nephew picked up for me. I want a press to make oil.
 
If that's happening Puglover1 you either have crap or you burn at low temperatures. Low temperatures are great for terps but leave a lot of the higher temp terps. There's a saying. 'You have to waste it to taste it.'
 
Gingerbeard how do you blast your own wax? Guess I will be using my rosin for edibles, I ain't smoking it, if it tastes like shit.
 
My bad Smoklahoma . I meant it tastes like hash and I think it smells like shit. Rosin is not as pure a product as people think. That is, there are still bits of plant matter and lipids and stuff that smolder in a banger like it would in a bowl. This is my experience. I've tried a few grams because people tell me I was getting junk. As you see, there are lots of folks who dab rosin. Let's not get into what a 'pure' product is, readers. Solvents. I said it. Solvents happen. We're not talking about resin, yet.

Now, we're talking resin. I have graduated to a dewaxing column and butane to blast. Heated vacuum chamber to purge. This, from the good ol' glass dick/blasting tube. After a few runs of live resin, I've decided to dry blast. There is an extra step or two the pros go through to get a particular taste out of live resin. Other folks recognize the taste but think it is what it is. It reminds me of wet grass. It has been in everything I've run so I know it's not right.

Plus, more dry bud goes into a column than does fresh.
 
No, Ginger, it was hot! New torch, just filled. Crap from the street, I let it sit for a week before I even touched it, seems 'wet' when he brings it by, in wax paper. I gave him some sheets of parchment to give to his friend. I have gotten some decent in the past, esp after letting it sit a bit. His friend gets all the popular flower, smaller buds but tight as heck and trimmed like dispo. Must be grey market/back door.
 
That picture answers any questions I had. I had envisioned 2 bare metal plates that you would then need to figure out heating elements and a source to control the temperature.
