Sub-forums ?

I was wondering about the idea of grouping up the posts into categories such as: lighting, soil, hydro, indoor, outdoor, etc...? So a person could navigate to a section related to their question rather than search through every post.
Don't get me wrong, I love this site. I just wanted to offer an idea. Perhaps you have already thought about it. I don't know what goes into implementing such an idea. But I thought I would pass it along to those that would.
Thank You for providing a cool place for us to hang out.

What does everyone else think? Is that a good idea? Am I being to particular?
Seem like it would organize things some? Group similar topics together?
Thoughts anyone?

New topics and or new posts would be a sub-forum.
But posts from a couple of days ago wouldn't be 6 pages back because things would be of similar nature are grouped together.

But hey I don't want to change anything if I'm the only one that thinks it's a good idea. I would rather things stay the same than mess it up. Thanks for commenting Xcardplayer.
Cheers

I like the idea of sub forums but I also like just 1 global forum. So my thinking is that say I want to make a post on dwc it would appear in both places so it gets seen by all and easy for some 1 who is looking DWC to find it in say a hydroponic forum.

As a user I prefer sub-forums, as the person running them not so much. Though that really depends on the community and if they post in the correct sub-forum. heh

Gged I'm not tech savvy. I'm feeling good when I can post a picture. Lol So if its going to make things too difficult for administrators to do their jobs on the forum then I'll stop asking. I think it would make it easier to navigate to find what we're looking for, but not at the expense of being a royal pain in the arse.
Thanks

I had previously mentioned to nebula about more sub categories. I had stated that after a while as daily thread count increased you would start to see posts getting shuffled very quickly to next pages. She acknowledged this but felt that this system was more ideal for the time being. I suggested to increase the amount of threads listed per page and that is why it is now 20 instead of 10, which definitely helped.
