Struggles with seeds

Been about 8-9 days and reporting in. I have two seedlings looking pretty good and one that seems to be stunted and contracting.

Was able to get temp down. (Added an intake computer fan)

TEMP: 74-76F
HUMIDITY: 60%
PPFD: 225

Seedlings still under domes (even though not pictured). Domes have small holes poked in them now.

Figured I would update. It's been about 14-16 days since sprouting. We had one casualty of the three seeds. The one pictured above that doesn't look great just couldn't make it so I sent her to the grave.

However, the other two are doing alright. I think they're a bit stunted based on the days since sprouting, but maybe it's just me being critical.

Seedlings were transplanted to 4 gal. fabric pots on Feb.20th (day 13-ish)

One of the seedlings had a deformed second set of leaves, but the next sets are coming in quite large and strong!

The other little girl has been growing out quite slowly in perfect form... just small and slow.

I've slowly upped the ppfd to 550.
In the tent:
Avg temp:80F
Avg RH: 46%

Tough to keep the temps down with the room temp and RH. Exhaust fan runs on low speed pretty much all day
Room environment:
Avg temp: 76F
Avg RH: 50%

Don't have any complaints really at this time other than them seeming a bit stunted.

Don't despair about the look of the leaf it will grow out normal it usually does. Those really look fine now just take it slow and let them dig into that new soil. Don't give too much water still go around in circles outside of leaf canopy let those roots hunt for moisture.

At that stage I'd be looking at 70%RH 75⁰F 350 PPFD

You're pushing them really hard..slow and steady at that stage.

You look to be in soil so maybe water when it dries out, so no more than every 3 or 4 days, maybe go a week in the right conditions but those fabric pots throw a curve ball in the mix.

Thank you for the feedback! I've backed off the light a bit and put my humidifier back in to raise the humidity. I need to order a new one. It has a sensor for shutting itself off at differing humidity levels between 40% and 60%, but i've found that it sometimes just shuts itself off which is frustrating. I think I may go for the InfinityAC T3 and then I can place it outside my tent and feed in. I'm a bit space limited in a 2x2x4.

Coco requires regular watering but you need to use very small amounts to avoid overwatering. The coco looks very wet.

Do not water to runoff. That can wait.

Do not use to high an EC. Half recommended should be fine

Awesome. Thank you again for the feedback! Have not been watering to runoff. I had just watered a few minutes before the photos were taken. Still doing seedling strength nutes.

They do seem a bit small/stunted. I think you have have been a little early on the transplant. Good thing is mephisto genetics are generally very hearty and should power though. Nice job conquering the germination challenges. Next time will go even better. Best of luck! ✌️&💚

Another update incoming!

Left town for a four days and had the wife handle the plants and wow!! Maybe I should do that more often! Took the advice and raised the humidity back up by putting the humidifer back in.


I'm going to assume these little girls are in proper veg state now. I had the wife do one feeding of seedling strength water and the rest I had her just do tap water PH'd to 6.3 or so. I didn't want to go through the rigamarole of teaching her the nutes. And man... did it work!

Today is Day 20 (from first sprout).

PPFD is still steady 370. Considering upping the PPFD now as they seem to be maturing.
Also looking at getting into early veg state nutes?

Very nice job. Slow and steady around day 40 they may flower sometimes longer. They look very healthy. Congrats on having a partner who knows how to water and care for plants

DAY 32 UPDATE! (day 32 from sprout day)

These little girls seem to be doing well in full veg. Again - Both are 24K autos. Girl in the back seems to be moving along a little slower than the front one. Started some LST a few days ago as the front plant is shooting straight up and I don't want to run out of room in the tent during flower.

Temp: Steady 77-80F
Humid: 45-50%

Removed my old humidifer that seemed to have a problem with humidity sensor and couldn't hold correct humidity. I've acquired an AC Infinity T3 humidifier, but have not needed to use humidity help since they've begun veg and natural humidity has been fine. Will set it up on my next grow or when needed.

Boy that is a little footprint of a tent. They look pretty darn good. Now don't be surprised if you see the roots come up from soil alittle cause of the main stalk LST this happens alot for me especially with photos cause they are strong plants and pull on the restraints so you can if you want to put more soil on top of them. Do not worry if it does. Your doing real good with your babies who will soon be flowering.

Time for another update!

Day 36-37 - We have one plant transitioning! I swear these are the same strain seeds, but they look completely different! (24K Gold autos)

I'm seeing a little bit of yellowing on the leaves. I read that as copper deficiency on GWE. I've been militant on PH so I'm totally sure what might be the issue. Not all leaves are yellowing, but you can see yourself and weigh in. Maybe it's a strain specific thing as part of flowering. Not sure.Otherwise, still looks healthy to me.

DAY 56 UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!! (DAY 56 from sprout)

Both plants floiwering quite well....

Lessons learned: This tent is too small for two autos. (2x2x4 tent). Two photo-periods might be fine as long as flowering initiation is controlled. I took separate photos of the plants in the tent so you can't tell how squeezed in they are.

Thoughts: I swear these two plants are the same strain, but they do not look anything alike as far as growth. One is stalky and tall and the other shorter, fuller and fatter. Seeds came from the same packet and same seller.
Generally, all of the colas are starting to fill out and look good. Still have a ways to go before harvest.

Concern: Shorter plant has some bright orange spots developed on two of the top colas. I was thinking it might be related to ppfd being too high (it was well over 1000). I backed it down to under 900 ppfd. Eveything else looks fine on other colas.

Your rust spot are related to the light, the medium and a nute deficiency of calcium.. Also VPD can contribute also.

Strong LED's tend to bring that out, especially in coco. Looks ugly, and seems to effect the fastest growing plant first.

Edit. Yours are also very high in N, indicated by the very dark green growth. Same problem as my 4 autos. With the nutes you are using do not use a calmag suppliment composed of nitrates. It adds too much N and reduces flowering yield and I haven't checked yet but I suspect is related to the Cal deficiency.

Thanks for the feedback, Bluey. I'm using the GH Flora Trio for normal nute feeding (Micro, Gro, Bloom) as well as GH Cali Magic. I'm curious if I should change the amount or the brand of CaliMagic? or eliminate it completely?

I forgot to mention my other enviros...
Humidity range: 45% - 60%
Temp range: 75F - 80F
not really monitoring VPD as it's a tiny tent and wildly fluctuates.
PPFD was over 1000, but is now under 900 (for the top colas)

The range will depends on the weather here. I don't have a sophisticated setup. The tent is in my spare office and typically gets good airflow. I'm in Southern California.
