Stretchy seedlings

I started some new seeds a few days ago.I did the 'tween the sheets thing. Babies had approximately 1/2 starter roots when they went into dirt. Soil is a Oceans Forest, coco, n perlite mix. A24 watt lightbar led stationed apprx.4-5 inches above the pots containing the babies.The babies broke through the soil in their usual and expected manner.But instead of the leaves forming letting foliage start to develop the only growth was the stem. So, I added soil to bury the excess stem and to provide more support. This is by no means my first rodeo. I'm thinking my light was up to high. Was that my mistake. How much above the seedlings should my light be. I made adjustments. Light is closer to the plants. No danger of heat, the LED stays cool. Generally I maintain a 1-2 inch clearance above seedlings.Am I on the right track, here?.

If its not your light I find that a fan set up so they getting a slight breeze, just enough to make them "jiggle" makes them more inclined to bush out rather than get lanky.

Is this a first? A new light perhaps? Could it be genetic? IDK, but I'm curious. My sprouts go under a t5 light at 1-2" above the plants. Sometimes the sprouts get leggy, sometimes they don't. If they do get leggy I support them until transplant time and bury them deep enough to support the stem.

24 watts is not enuf to grow under, classic symptom is they get leggy/stretchy. Pics and more info on the light please!
