Strain Advice - Fem or Fem Auto

Fluxuated

New member
New Grower, Finishing my second grow...

Looking at getting seeds for my next grow. I'm looking at FEM Purple Kush, or AUTO FEM White Widow..

As a new grower, will the purple Kush be much harder to grow than the Auto? Since, it's not an auto, I'll need to be careful on when to flip, is that basically the issue I'll need to deal with, or with the Kush be much harder to maintain.

Thanks for your advice.

I started with autos because many people said it’s easier. Did 50 autos before I started on photos. And my opinion it’s the same. They both are quite easy to maintain.
the one think I love with photos is I decide how large they are going to be, and can do a little more HST with them. :)

first time around I'd flip to 12x12 30 days after germ, maybe another 2 weeks depending
but as spring is here I may go a whole 2 months or more vegging this babe
but I will need to locate outdoors within a month due to heat and size issues

or if you intend to stay indoors you may flip to 12x12 say 2 weeks after germ to keep small
to improve venting an d less smell etc
its very much your decision

Often I'd grow indica autos with my sativa landraces as my sativas like all
will take an extra 2-3 weeks over photo indicas
in otherwords the autos(my THC bombs auto) will be done and dusted long before the sativas are ready to harvest

good luck

With autos you have no room for errors, the short growth cycle is to blame. With some taking only 56 days from sprout to finish add to that say a bug or PH issue the plant will be stunted. Meaning the harvest will be adversely affected.
Photos you choose when to flip to 12/12s and flower them so if you have an issue you have time to deal with it and still get a good harvest. I have sprouted photo seed under 12/12s and kept them there, they make short little plants that give up a taste of a real grow. Veg time is what you want it to be for the size harvest (or the equipment you have) you want/desire.

Not much, a few joints, I would say not worth while for a harvest. They still take the same time to ripen so the only savings is veg time. For photos to be about the same as an auto veg them 3-5 weeks.
