STONINGTON BLEND- It doesn't get any easier than this- I HOPE

We all feel ya that have plants near harvest. I too lifted my auto in it's pot this morning it's still heavy enough not to water it's been 3days i think so we are in the same boat. Dang fine looking autos you have very thick. Enjoy

Harvest begins with Tangie-matic from FastBuds:

Back into the tent for 10-14 days.

Not much left to grow out, but I have nothing else waiting for the tent and the other two plants will be ready within a week, or so.

Harvest buds were pungent, good size and hard as a rock.

I will be using the KISS @ Dry/Cure: method, listed below.

I use a small tent for drying. When another tent is set up- I just attach exhuast to the grow tent.

Large buds are tricky when drying- - hard to tell moisture content sometimes-

These felt dry on the outside-but using a lumber moisture meter tells another story @ 17.5%.
I shoot for around 10% before jarring (to avoid the issue I had in the KISS Dry/Cure: process).

Yes it's true with large stems and buds to judge it for jarring. I don't use a moisture meter just my hands and lucky for me i don't mind chopping large buds down to size once I feel there ready to cure. If i find them a tad to moist yet i'll toss them into a plane old paper sack for a day. Are you gonna start another run?

I just lost a big bud to mold. Not sure if it came during the drying period or if was already starting when I harvested the plant. I'm leaning towards the drying period because the humidity was a little higher than I like (high 50's). Either way that was a first for me. I'll need to be a little more aware.

SoOrbudgal - No plans for another run- I am trying to germinate some old seeds without success- If one of those pop, i will pl;ace in a small tent and let it run it's course.

golfnrl, that sucks- a lumber moisture meter may be helpful in that instance- 50% humidity is doable with attention to detail- I always break up large buds during/after the drying stage-before jarring for curing, as I keep my buds for a couple of years- up to 4 years in a controlled environment.,

The first plant (Tangie) was Pot Porn to keep things interesting.

Now comes the actualytest plant MEXICAN AIRLINES- who's seed is from the same batch as the 2021 grow and used the same environment as before, with the noted nutrients etc.
This grow was only 1/2 Stonington Blend-

Out of the gate, I see a much more yield and there was no growing issues as seen in the previous test of 100% Stonington.
I did not do a staged harvest as I wanted an "apples to apples" comparison.

Total weight was almost twice the previous grow @116.2g vs 63.7g <-(which was less than my normal of 85-90g for Mexican Airlines).

My reason/goal for joining GrowWeedEasy was to find the best work/reward growing techniques.

1/2 Stonington growing sativa -seems to usher in the "HOLY GRAIL" of ease of growing to quality and yield of product!

That's great Weed Pharma i'm so glad this turned out well for you. Those are beautiful colored buds. I sure hope you stay in the grow zone come back and update us in the future :)

STAGED HARVEST: Update-

Going well- I see mostly cloudy- some clear and a few amber trichomes- Good weight gain.

The harvest window is re-opened for this plant, which will most likely be harvested this weekend, too.

All plants will be cured & stored long term,in controlled environment for up to 4 years.

Puglover1 - I use Roots Organic Original with very light, weekly dose of GROW nutrients from the CocoTek line - during the seedling phase (3 weeks).
Then 1 dose of Bloom around the stretch (week 4)- then just water it.

STAGED HARVEST RESULT: additional 33.7g for Tangie yield.

The buds were very light, but since I make edibles, weight is all I concern myself with.
My best guess, there would be only 10g of unusable-immature buds - if I did not stage harvest it.

OVERALL- this was an amazingly easy grow with good results.

It will provide around 11+ ounces of product, which will supply me for 2 years

When I do grow again-I'll try a set it and forget it - the LEDs- (I stressed the plants).
I will use only 5 gal fabric pots.

@ 2 years and I am continuing the Stonington Blend Grow Experiment-

This grow, Roots Organic Original was not available so I have filled three 5 gallon fabric pots with 2/3 Stonington Blend and 1/3 FoxFarms- Light Warrior seed starter.

Everything else is consistent with the last grow (2023).
Except I have set the light distance @ 32" above the soil surface.
I added a Mars Hydro 240- on veg only, yesterday and reduced the rapidLED to75%.

3 seeds of Mephisto "Alien vs Triangle" popped on June 3rd and are doing well.

I will post a pic @ 3 weeks when I top (assuming I have healthy plants)-preparing for the stretch.

I do not have data of previous yields - for this strain, so just looking at the plant health and ease of growing this time around.

The rings are pretty available now, sustainable village in the US , other grow stores up here in Canada.
Just in case you’d prefer not to buy from Jeff over at Amazon.

I have used those rings a couple of times, make sure you nutrients are fully dosolved or take a drill and/or open up the holes a bit. I would also raise them up to at leaset 3 inches above the media so you can watch the water/feed come out. Is that cococoir? How many times a day do you water/feed?
