Stem Growth

My seedling is about 2 1/2 weeks in. I haven't noticed any significant stem growth only foliage. Is this normal and when will the stem begin to sturdy up and thicken?

Yes your plant is normal and looks good for 2 1/2wks. If it's in normal soil no nutes and it's a photo plant not a auto you could give it a weak NPK feeding. What are you using for soil and nutes for the grow. Tell more please, your little seedling is just finding it's roots as they dig in and really start growing you'll see fast changes. Good Luck

Right now, no nutes. It is a photo and I plan on adding nutes when transplanting in a few weeks. As of now, I use miracle grow potting soil (.21% nitrogen). I haven't been able to find a good balance for nutes, so I bought a tomato/vegetable feed that is 12-10-5. Not sure if this is adequate for the vegatative growth though. Thanks for the reply!

Well you won't need nutes with that miracle grow potting soil do to the N in it so don't add nutes if you even transplant into next pot and use same miracle grow soil. It suppose to last for awhile. I never used that soil mix miracle grow cause I don't like what they put in it. Not many MJ growers would use it only in a pinch. That miracle grow should tell you on the bag how long it's good for during veggie growth. That's to high of N if you use both of the mix and 12-10-5. Just my 2 cents
