Starting 3rd grow and want some advice on autos.

My first grow was anemic, lots of deficiency and ph problems, the harvest was weaksauce and lightweight.
My second grow is in second week of flower and looking healthy, both grows were/are fem White Widow.

I have been thinking about Auto's after reading so much success in this forum and would like advice;
Are the yields comparable? I understand they shouldn't bee trained, true? Are super autos better?

Thanks

Haven't heard of super autos.
They are very easy to grow, I have 4 pineapple express all about 40 days in and all are getting their frost on already. I don't do any training - but check out The Automechanics they are wonderful to watch the training they are doing - but defoliation is a necessity. Just have to open the bud sites up.
After 3 weeks they begin to flower - I find them amazing to watch they develop so fast.
What I've grown has shown me they average about 2 feet tall. Average yield is about 60 grams. Probably get more if you are using HPS.
I have had 2 grow up just past 4 feet tall. Their yield suffered cuz they wuz lanky with lots of room between buds.
I have 2 white widows and a 1/4 pounder up next - autos - and after watching Green I'm gonna go the topping and LST route.
Plus they harvest faster than photos - average about 80 days.
And the lighting is easy. 20/4

My Autoflower white widows never produced a whole lot smoke was incredible though, pH pH pH check it going in check it coming out proper fertilization good light lots of wind it's not that difficult you'll get it keep plugging away.

my first auto grow I got half a pound from two plants under a 600W hps in a 2x3 DIY grow cupboard in 63 days from seed to harvest.

This grow I've got 3 autos under a 600W HPS in a 2x4 tent (bit crowded) but going to yield even better. And should be less than 70 days.

I always do 24/0, no training.

Super Autos take 100+ days from seed to harvest.

I disagree with above comments regarding defoliation to be a necessity.
Yes, it certainly can help but good results can also be achieved without it in good circumstances. My display picture/avatar was 4.5oz with no defoliation or training, I just trimmed most of the fan leaves off before taking the photo on harvest day.

I'm just using cheap black plastic pots from a hardware/gardening store.
First grow was 250mm/10" diameter pots roughly 2 gal.
This grow I'm using 290mm/11.4" diameter pots roughly 3.5gal

I been retired 3 years and you can't get any lazier than me - hehehe - I thought that's what retirement is for - best part of my day is plant maintenance

I'd love to post some pics of my autos for you, but I've been waiting a week and it still won't let me. I've sent Nebula a message - guess I'll just wait.
Love seeing everyone else's pics

I enjoy plant maintenance but I produce well enough without topping/bending/mainlining/constant defoliation so I just don't see the point in me going to extra effort for more yield that I don't require.

the new picture size limit is causing lots of frustration for users. Don't know why such a major change wasn't announced with instructions of how to work around it. We'll have to wait and see how it all works out. It's annoying to have to take photos and then modify them all to be able to post them.

Had to resize a buttload of pics (on a site called pic resize I believe) and it took forever working from the iPhone. There was a batch resize option but it takes forever and then zips the file. Individual option resizes it and then lets you save it. Hopefully it changes I want to see ur pics Canuck!!!
