Starkiller bagseed journal

3/23 I mixed a 1000 EC solution from 5 ml each of A and B grow/ 1 gallon. Added 16 oz of it to the bucket to bring the EC up to 850 from 525. Slight curl to one side of a lower leaf. I'm guessing too high pH, I read this strain can be picky about pH and high temps. No problem there since my grow environment is very stable.

A few threads from forums and talked to Hanna. It's really all the same just depends on your conversion factor. EC never changes, ppm is calculated off EC.
 
Last day of this nutrient solution, it's been two weeks. I've topped the bucket off once with the same EC and kept the pH in check at about 5.85. It's at the sixth node and being topped to the fourth. Roots are real white and growing by the day. Tomorrow I will change it out and jump the EC to 1000ish, but not too high....don't wanna stress it out after the topping.

Ended up going with 1250 EC to make for the added ppms from using all tap. It's down to 1100 EC but still has a couple more days until a bucket change. I have been keeping the pH between 5.75 and 6.1. It didn't really mind being topped, just kept growing.
I did get a little heavy handed with the training and broke a lower branch. Immediately I taped it back together in hopes I didn't lose it. It was drooping bad after a day and I almost took the shears to it. I waited though and glad I did, it is back to growing without issue. Any LST I do seems to not make a change, slight pinch and bend down of the branches...nothing. They just keep popping right back up.

Are you holding them down when you pinch and bend?
That is some LEAF!!! Happy looking plants :)
 
No, just bend them down pretty good. I soften it up right under the nodes and bend it down with more force than LST. Somewhere between LST and super cropping. I take care of the veg room first so by the time I get back in there from the flower room, for the most part, it's like I haven't done anything. I'm going to try wires or ties to hold them in place.
I had to train the leaves out of the way 😄

Yeah, they bounce back fast, even from full supercropping!
I use soft ties - lots and lots of them (had to by a third spool) - but I think coated single strand wire would be perfect if it was good and thick like 6 or 8
 
Bamboo stakes - duct-taped to the bucket?
This must be one of the reasons I grow in Coco - and a problem I have not considered before!
 
It didn't seem to produce the results I was looking for last grow, but Chefbjy is having success just tying the supercrops down to the same branch/plant.
 
Just push the end of the wire in the ground. Deep enough that'll hold the stem... might damage some roots though. But you do this around the plants, and then you can tie other wires to these one. Worked for me in full ground, not even growing in pots... Had similar problem of "where though?" there is nothing to tie it to if it's not in a pot ^^
 
That's what I was thinking. I have some 10-12 ga aluminum wire that bends easy but hold shape well. "Found" it at work. Not coated but can just make more of a hook to coax it down gradually.
