splitting up light cycle? (autoflower)

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has ever split up the light cycle for their autoflower grow example:

on 7 hours 3 times a day ------ off for 1 hour 3 times a day?

Nope i got better things to do than babysit a light 24-7 . Better use of my time and plant growth with autos is 18-6. Or 24-7 but always always i use a timer. I don't think that 1hr is enough too much interruption to me? But that's just my 1cent opinion others will chime in.
 
What is the goal? What I see is it takes the plant around 10 minutes to go to sleep and 10 minutes to wake up. So for 60 minutes each day you would be between sleep and awake. I think you would do better with 20/4 or 18/6, I ran mine 24/0 until the last week or so. 8/4/8/4 has been suggested for mothers to keep them in veg and not get them big fast.
 
If you want to run it 21 hours a day, why not just do 21 on / 3 off? I use MH and HPS mostly, I wouldn't want my bulbs firing up 3x as often as they needed to. I'm not sure how hard startup is on LEDs but I'd hate to find out later that I burned my lights up faster by trying some crazy new light schedule.
 
I am not planning on doing it this time round due to it being only my second go at this and its already 6 weeks in but I was just thinking about it while lying there. I thought people said it was a good thing to break up sleep and to take naps but I don't seem to see that while googling. Interesting how it takes 10 min to sleep and 10 min to wake so I could see 1 hour being terrible. I think maybe it would work if I was to split it into 2 times 9.5 hours on and 2 times 2.5 hours off but I am not really sure if it would be a positive effect or negative.

I was just thinking you could even split it up in a 2 day cycle. Every 2 days you go 3 times 14 hours plus 3 times 2 hours therefore keeping the light above the 12 hours a day but getting 3 rest periods instead of 2 and 2 more hours of light compares to 20/4
 
Will do when I get a shot. Only have 1 tent atm and it is my second grow so I will do so when I get a chance. Thanks everyone for your responses.
