Splitting the stems

This is my first time splitting the stems on a couple of Autos I only did one branch on each plant but my Question is how long to harvest after splitting ,
What is the time line on splitting before harvest.
So I took a knife and pushed it though the stem then placed a plant label 1/16th thick in it
Any advise would be appreciated

OK- as I understand (not having done this,yet) the timing to harvest- has to be perfect -as the plants can/will hermie in 2-3 weks from this proceedure.
I do well determining when to harvest, but not able predict several weeks in advance.
I'm along for the ride!

Here's some pictures the slice is 2 inches long, while she was on the bench I took a look at the trics it looked like the trics were just a little longer on the split branch ,That could be wishful thinking on my part. Either way I have 4 Jack Herer that need the space so I will be taking them today

Hello OJH, I was hoping that would work for you, but I'm thinking it's all about the plant itself, either they naturally have alot of trichs or they don't, some varieties have alot of trichs like say gorilla glue, an some other varieties dont,
Only thing I've found that actually SEEMS to help increase trichs is keeping them in the black dark, several days after your last flush.
Our outside grows we would always cover the plants up before harvesting 3-4 days later. But I'm not sure that even helps very much. I think they either have trichs or they don't, man I've got a good buzz going this morning, I cut my Bubblelicious 2 days ago an I tried a sample, oh brother, is she good smoke already, can not wait for a proper cure, it's gonna be some killer I can tell.
