Spider mites are not visible to the naked eye so unless you were looking under 30x magnification when you saw it, it is probably not a spider mite.
 
aphids are a common problem but you can see them with the naked eye , if you see another one take a picture and we can help alot more
 
Make sure you check on the bottom of the leaves. These muthafuckas like to make things difficult, or maybe just survive to make more useless copies of themselves.

I can see spider mites. The webs will first alert you, and then you can make out tiny moving dots. However this sounds more like aphids. Good luck!
