Special "titles" for users, what do you think?

Wow, pretty easy to see the folks who have it dialed in. New and lurking because I'm rather teck unsavy and memory isn't as good as long ago. Enjoy the happy atmosphere, but hate to see labels. Sad to see some newer folks posts get looked at but no answers. So much to know, and seeing the repition of easy questions is tough, but have we all been there. Rooting for the GWE automechanics is the most fun I have these days, so much optimism and friendlyness. I think ill stay "out here" lurking, for that alone. Take all my little red bars away please, I'm no expert.

NebulaHaze We all know who the master growers are on this forum; the proof is in the pudding. Why would anyone need more flair? When my buddies check in on my grows and say nice things, that's all I need to feel the sense of community that makes us strong.

Some members are naturally more inclined to help, and others are much more consumed with their own grows and don't bother with the newbies. Human nature is diverse.

I'm sure that you are very busy and you won't always be here to answer a newbie's question. It happens. We can't FORCE people to read GWE and learn the basics. Also human diversity, and with folks who won't or can't read, patience is a virtue. It really reminds me of my students: I simply can't prevent some of them from failing because they refuse to study...

As it stands right now, I still think you have one of the very best forums on the web because you don't allow sniping and snarking. Kind people grow kind bud.

They don't take the time to read GWE but take the time to post a question here... That doesn't make me feel like helping them. :/

I've seen this discussion before here. My view: Some people just aren't good readers; they just can't process the info. I'm seeing this more and more with my millenial students. I'm still going to TRY to get people to strengthen their reading skills, but I can't force them.

Oh believe me, Minoo, there are things I cannot stand, too!! I will avoid anyone on this forum who wants to blame others, is negative, shallow, etc.

But being a professor, I am used to lazy learners and I don't give up on them immediately. But there always comes a time when I stop investing time and energy, and let them do what they are going to do....

Dan, there's nothing like reading the Quijote in Spanish...

Minoo, how about this one: Yo locoloco ella loquita... Get it?? (Doble entendre...)

Haha, i'm not sure. I studied spanish when i was 12. For a year. Something about "I'm crazy, she's also crazy"? Double meaning? I'm not good enough to understand the double meaning xP

Ok, it's rather ribald: Yo loco loco = I'm super crazy; Ella loquita = She's a little bit crazy. So there's one.

Yo lo coloco = I put it in place; Ella lo quita = She takes it out.

so Ganga there were these two old guys walking along and the 1st says to the second I know weve been friends for life and you were my best man but I'll be damned if I can remember your name ,the second thinks about it for a minute then says how soon you gotta know isn't gitting old fun lol

Nebula I think the growers here are mostly here to help ,I could care less if I have 1 or a 1000 posts I just give my input my thought are there 6 ways to do everything so if something works for you then use it even if it is non conventional I take what other say with a grain of salt and hope they take what I say with one to . I think 9fingers is right in that some newbees are very well read and able to articulate better than me so I like to see what they have to say, I dont think I have seen Stop you are doing it wrong at al,l mostly that might work but here is how I do it Type statements
