Like Mr.Furley dont mess with roots, and perlite is a must with coco. i do 70%/30% coco/perlite in felt pots but if i were in regular pots i would do 60/40.
One other thing, if you do coco you will want to buffer the coco before planting into it. To buffer add calmag to water (usually 1 tsp per gallon but depends on calmag brand) ph the calmag water to 6.0 ph and water medium until you get runoff. Let it dry for a day or two (enough so medium is moist but not soaking) then transplant. I've found with coco if you do not charge (buffer) the coco the plant growth will be stunted.
The pic attached is a pic of 4 plants in beginning of grow. The two on the left i buffered the coco first, the ones on the right i forgot to buffer. I was able to correct the issue but the plants on the right took longer to catch up and were runty for a while.
