I bought an E39 adapter to fit this 64w cfl and it won’t work. The light won’t turn on. So I returned the bulb, got a new one, and bought three other adapters. NOTHING WORKS! So pissed to say the least. Anybody else encounter this issue?
This is a 64watt cfl so it’s equivalent is like 300w incandescent? If so, that’s a big cfl and likely may need a ballast. You can get 3 23watt cfls to get close to that and use a spider to keep the 110volt feed. The 400w equivalent leds I am using as garage lights run easily with an E39 adapter and 110v ac .
IF I’m looking for your bulb on-line it shows it requires 277volt to light...if it’s the same one
You are probably correct. I use a compact spiral 55 watt bulb (with a medium base) and it has a built in ballast which gives it a larger base than the one in the photo.
