Side lighting is it worth it?

Yes it's worth, dependent on medium, it but you should design your system to give the correct amount of DLI. Or you'll probably end up spending too much and have to dim.
If you want to keep it simple just add some under canopy lighting. I think about 20% of the top lighting is the sweet spot and you can just use cheap flood or spot lights....but water resistant of course.
Yields should be about 20% higher.
A cheaper way of increasing yields is to use coco and continually fertigate using drip irrigation...that should make a slightly bigger difference if you get it right.

it's amazing how we construct things out of thin air when they are important to us. the wife was bitchin' that it took me a week to change a vacuum cleaner bag but only 30 seconds to build a bong out of a ketchup bottle and a hi-lighter. i have my priorities

This is my first grow using the Vivosun version 4 full spectrum 32w each. They are under a Mars-Hydro 300w in a 2 x 4. This is the beginning of week 5 of 12/12. I’m happy so far but won’t really get a good idea of whether or not they improved yields. What do you think
