Should you remove the shell (helmet) if it's stuck?

One of my 2 mephisto chemdogging hasnt fully shed its shell. Should i wait or try and remove it? Its been 2 days since it popped up. They're in 3 gallon fabric pots using Canna Coco as the medium.

Yes, I mist it with water to soften it and wait a bit then see if it's ready to come off, using tweezers.
If not, I wait another day and repeat- do not force it , it should just fall off once touched

I agree with gingerbeard: Sometimes the seedling needs a little help getting the helmet off, just be super-gentle, don't force it like weed pharma says.

Thanks guys. It seemed to come off pretty easy. The cotelydons are a little bent, but getting straighter today.

I don't like to yank on em. A little lube seems to work wonders. I will mist it with distilled water. Seems to help.

Hey Jay,

Definitely give her a hand. A little misting, then gently work both sides off. I use two pairs of tweezers. Had to do it more often than I'd like. Seeds are expensive. I just helped out my latest two weeks ago, Purplediol by Elite seeds. Here she is, yesterday.
