Should I separate them?

I was given three plants, all of them in one large pot together, and have been there since since they were germinated. I'm pretty sure the roots are so intertwined and I'm concerned that if I separate them, it will tear the roots and put them into shock. I don't know which would be best for them; leave them or just put them on a bigger pot together, or try and separate them. Thanks!

They would probably grow better if you separated them but as you said it would probably shock them for a week or two. But if you have the time to veg for a few more weeks it should be fine. I would use a sharp knife or shears and gently cut the rootball in 3 parts making sure to keep the tap root intact for each plant and as many secondary roots as possible. Then replant them in separate pots and baby them with high humidity for a couple weeks until they can regrow some of those roots. As long as you start with healthy plants they should bounce right back. That's what i would do but it would also be interesting to see how 3 plants would do in 1 pot. If that is your only light, get rid of two plants. You only have light enough for one.
If you are getting more light, up-pot the whole mess as one and get into training and defoliation.
If you are determined to separate them and they are fem/photo, divide them with a sharp knife and transplant each. A method of transplanting cuts root balls to encourage more root growth. You will hit a bit of shock but recover with more roots.
