Should I lollipop my plants have lots of leaves and lower buds I have trimmed most of lowest leaves and bud sights

I always strip the growth from the ground up to about 5 or 6 inches and yes to your question but I'd also do a little defoliating to open up the buds sites to light and circulating air.
