Here is how hubby used to get his pot. His sister lives in Key West and she knows people. His brother lives in Savannah, GA. So twice a year hubby would drive to GA from PA and she would drive to GA from Key West. She would supply them both enough to last six months. They would split a pound. Such a risky business for her, all that driving and crossing state lines.
Last batch had more seeds than usual, so on a whim, we planted 21 of them. WE WERE NOT PREPARED FOR WHAT HAPPENED. They all sprouted and within two weeks were in solo cups. We bought 2 4bulb T5 lights. They outgrew their solo cups in no time at all. Three were not worth saving so we bought 18 2 gal buckets and 9 long plastic trays. We bought 4 more T5 fixtures and 3 or 4 bags of baccto soil. We made cardboard walls covered with mylar for reflection. We had them spread out between 3 different areas with 2 lights per area.
We were starting to get panicky because they were getting so big and knew we should switch to flower soon. We replaced all the 6400k lights with 3000k lights and started the 12/12 cycle to try to weed out males.
We ordered a very large tent (48x96x72) and some full spectrum led lights and bought more soil. By the time the tent arrived and we got it set up, we had identified 8 males and 3 females. We were disappointed with the ratio, but quite a few plants were still not showing signs. The females got transplanted into 5 gal buckets and were taken upstairs and put in tent. We later identified 5 more females, which we transplanted to 5 gal buckets and put in tent. Didn't take but a week to see that 3 turned out being hermies.
So now we have 5 plants in a tent that is large enough for 2 or 3 times that many plants. We are now in week 6 of flowering. FLYING BY THE SEAT OF OUR PANTS FOR SURE!!
