Shade cloth to hide purple lightning

I have. My grow room on the upper room in my house. Pulling up the driveway if you look up, the glow from the grow lights are visible. I need something breathable to put over the outside of the window to hide it, but that still allows intake air flow and exhaust. I'm thinking tacking shade cloth over it might work??

No I guess I didn't make myself clear. The windows are covered with panda paper, except for the intake are slits and a 6in exhaust Circle. No light gets into the room from outside. All the windows are covered. White on the inside black on the outside of the panda paper. But outside the window you can see the purple light coming through through those two places where I need are pulled in and exhaust air is pushed out.

I use a piece of plywood. painted black with intake/exhaust circles. This fits in my windowsill and I have vent covers in the outside.

made me think if you could get some vent covers and just install them "upside down" from normal so that any light coming out would be reflected upwards and not towards the street.

Here is a piece of 80% shade clothe I use on my west windows to keep the summer heat out, it works very well and still lets you see out. I just took a picture over my LEDs but imagine the auto exposure on the camera doesn't quite show the true effect. Using my LUX meter and a LED flashlight from a distance of 1 foot lowered it from 80,000 to 8,000 lux. The farther away from the light source seems to have a greater effect.

I use bamboo shades thay roll up and down, no visible light from outside and still allow air flow bouth in and out. ( and cheep lol

That's not a bad idea for the intake vent burning Teddy, but what about the circle around the exhaust hose that's in the plywood. I could probably just cover that up maybe with some caulking or something

So 80% shade cloth is what I need to get. The bamboo shade idea wouldn't work because it would look too odd not matching any of the other windows. Well I guess actually a shade cloth would too but... 80% shade cloth then. Thanks guys

Where do you get it and does it cost alot ?

I have some purple sneaking out of some cracks and will do a test tonight to see if my shade cloth will stop the light leak. Shade cloth, shade fabric, shade sail seems to be the popular names, the sails have heavy seamed edges and gussets like a tarp. Home Depot has Sun Screen Fabric that start in the $25 range for 6'x20' rolls.

Just did a light test - the shade screen was not big enough to cover the whole window so moved it up and down. As you can see it doesn't block out completely - maybe if I double up on it. will try that tomorrow. I got "Top" and "No" pictures mixed up.

But to clarify, I need to keep the light from INSIDE the grow room from being seen when standing OUTSIDE looking up at the window.

I just doubled up on the shade cloth over the 4" dryer vent and could not see any purple from 6' away, however when I looked directly into the down-facing part I could still see a slight glow.

So I turned the intake vent panel upside down so that from the outside you can't see the light shining down. That worked really well. Now I'll just get some Caulking and go around the circumference of the exhaust tubing and that should take care of it. Thanks for all of your ideas!
