You will need a good clear picture of the node spacing to be able to tell the sex of the plant. Providing its old enough to tell the sex yet.

Unfortunately it's still a little early to tell. You want to see a hair like in the picture I posted coming out of your node spaces. That is a female. If you see a ball of some sort coming out of those node spaces it is a male. I would give it at least a couple more weeks. As far as sativa there might be some sativa in it. But from the fat leaves it looks like it's indica-dominant. Sativa will have long skinny leaves. Hope this helps out a little bit. It's frustrating at first but hang in there. I agree indica dominant, also on the too early to tell on the sex.
