Seedling/sprout question

New member
G'day All,
I recently struck a seed using the paper towel method (can't beat it!), and when I was transferring her over to her new home, I noticed something unusual on her root..
I am just wondering if anyone has seen it before, or knows what it is..
She has broken surface, so it doesn't appear to be life threatening at this point.
When i first saw it, I thought, 'root cap' or similar, but the colour looks similar to a mold or something like that..
Anyone know what it is, will it affect her, etc.

She will be planted into a bubbleponics system in the very near future, and this has root conditioners/tonics in the mix.

Any help/ideas is muchly appreciated.

KR,
Damo.

Hey BlueDe, welcome to the forum! It looks to me in the second pic that the taproot already grew beyond the dark spot, so I wouldn't worry about it. Show us pics of the seedling!

Just look at her go!

Thanks for tips, my first bubbleponics grow, so when i saw it i was like, "oh great-dramas before the roots get anywhere near the good stuff" lol!

I will keep updates rolling, but for now, all systems are G-R-O-W

Was just discussing this on another thread with someone else: if that shell doesn't come off, drop a little water on it, and nudge it off with a toothpick or tweezers, very gently.

2nd set of true leaves just starting to show in the top as well.

Yeh. She's not in optimum conditions as of yet; growing with the indoor vegies under 130w 6400k cfl...
..until she meets bubbleponics and 400w MH.

I am finding that the freshies i pull out from under the cfl (was using a 14000k) respond brilliantly when i dump them under MH, and this girl is stuttering a little under the current 6400k.
Most notable, is the stem length (longer under 6400k), and the leaf growth hasn't been as quick..
..mind you, they are under 24/0 with cfl, then go to 18/6 in the halide room.
Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen lol
