Seed sprout

Normally I germinate seeds in a paper towel, on this dwc I just dropped them into the rapid rooter plugs ( only bout 30 hours ago) I notice that my rooter plus are so saturated that some of the plug holes had water standing in them. I moved the water lines lower in the baskets. Could too much water keep them from sprouting?

Yes, absolutely. They'll drown in too much water. If oxygen doesn't get to the taproot after the shell pops open, the poor baby will suffocate:(

Moist and warm is the key. Err on the dry side, not wet.

I couldn't agree more- as I forgot to adjust for the fall reduction of temperature and increase humidity- then ran into "failure to launch" when previously I had 100% germination- after making the wetness adjustment- all is well

What is the best way to start seeds for dwc? Should I germinate before placing seed in rapid rooter?

I germinate straight into the rapid rooters. When the taproot pops out of the bottom, carefully move it to your net cup or whatever. Going to have to keep the media wet, some setups rely on the roots being in the reservoir.
