Seed production and topping question.

I'm at a point in veg where I would normally top my plants, but my two hydro grows are for seeded bud. Is it better to top or let them grow out normally? I'm at a place where I still have no clue how many males/females I have. The goal is to fill a Mason jar each full of seeds for future Ghost Train Haze and Skunk #1 grows and also for potential trades. If the bud is nice too, that's great. Otherwise it's going to be made into hashish.

If you top em you'll convince the lower branches to get going and have more tops just like when growing to smoke more buds more smoke more buds more seeds

I expected it would work that way. I think I'm just feeling impatient. That same feeling probably cost me a lot of bud last grow!
