hi people, ive been watching youtube about how to scrog, and one guy vegged the plant very tall, then flattened it out, and then put the scrog net on top and started to weave it through the net, but others weaved through the net as it was as it was growing through the veg cycle,,, does anyone know which way is best???? and when should i be defoliating??? mitch UK....

Hi, Mitch. I'm SCRoGing for the first time (and from now on for every grow, because I love this method) and I used a tutorial from growweedeasy.com. I saw a lot of different approaches to SCRoGing on YouTube as well but have learned just about everything I know about growing from GWE and the GWE forum. And I've done very well! I trust my GWE sources as tested, tried, and true. This is the tutorial that I used: LBH's Famous ScrOG Tutorial .

Hi mitch1075. The video you watched, was it by The Grow Boss by any chance? If so, I watched that video a while back. He was trying to show us how to SCROG a very leggy, tall plant. Later on in a different video he made, he explains that he purposely allowed that particular plant to grow that tall so that he can later use her to show us how to SCROG a plant that grew too tall without proper training, but he doesn't suggest that we do that too. So to answer your question about which technique is better, I would have to say the other technique where you weave the plants through the SCROG as she grows. So the link Dagmar provided you above would be a good place to start. Good luck with your SCROG.

I like to veg the plants out tie them down do normal lst and topping. Then right be for flower I installed the scrog and continue to tuck up until the third week of flower and the stretch stops. I defoliated continusly through the tuck just to create space for the tops. I remove any leaves that are blocking tops and cannot be pushed down through the screen. I have finished tucking and now I wait 7 to 9 weeks for weed.
