SCROGger needs advice

I'm in day 8 of flower. I've been debating for a couple of days whether I should keep on tucking the branches under the net now that's it's stretching and expose more (smaller?) buds or leave it alone until the stretch is over? Taking a chance in getting budsites covered? There is plenty of space to grow however the lights max range is about reached.

I can't remember...does the trellis rise..our is it stationary...if it's stationary...fill your openings...fill your net...tuck and bend under...when screen is full then let them stretch upwards....always go low...

If the trellis rises and you have room for the stretch then just raise the net...up to you

Either way....Damn dude looks Friggen great!! Them ladies did not skip a beat...huh...

Get off the fence and make a decision....our ladies like decisiveness....they follow our lead
 
I am with Green on this. This does look great and you could go either way. Just remember that where you set your canopy is what you will have to work with later on when that grow gets gnarly. It is trying to work underneath that is a pain. Looks like you have plenty of room to tuck the branches and fill in lots of spots and would be the way I would go. Maybe wait a few days if you can.

Whatever your choice this is going to be fun to watch.

yes green these ladies have kicked in the next gear! Turned my back on them for a day and bam! It's jungle boogie time!!!!
so yes it can move and there's plenty of ceiling room for that. Being my first scrog I really have no idea on what to expect with sideway growing plants! So at the risk of sounding stupid what would raising the net achieve? I totally get the other scenario though.
 
I think moving the trellis up would allow you to tuck some of those taller colas under the net safely, allowing the shorter ones a chance to catch up, all while maintaining an even canopy.

Im no scrog expert, but I'd imagine that would work... but it's hard to gauge without actually being there.

Regardless, they look wonderful!
 
Man I got the freaking A Team at work here! Royal you gave me the visual I needed, it's decided soon as the rug rats clear the deck I'll be surfing the scrog tonight! Couple inches higher most likely, those girls are having themselves a mean growth spurt! Kinda scary a little.
 
Well, what do you think? Gave them some tucking, some velcros to keep them in place, next scrog will be 4x4 max not 6x6. There is some serious budding going on! I think you guys just about double my crop! Thanks!
 
Im really interested in the scrog you have done here!You said you will use a small scrog next time and i see you don't fill the outer squares all the way...Is it better to have a smaller scrog and filled all the way or have a square or two empty just incase you get outgrown?
 
Hey nartak what I meant was the squares are too big in this version, I have to wait longer before being able to tuck the branches under the net. With 3" or 4" wide squares as soon as the branch starts going upwards I should be able to tuck it earlier making it easier and faster in getting that flat mat. I'll just run more strings in between the existing ones for the next grow. I'm hoping for those outer square to fill in soon. But there is also the dilemma, outer squares mean less light.
I hope that makes sense.
 
Totally makes sense,an yes for the light getting to the outer edges of the scrog there was a nice post about it in the guides,measuring how low the light intensity gets the lower/away you go but i can't find it right now...

I just harvested my first scrog. IMy screen measured 20 inches by 30 inches. The plant was Blueberry And I got over 7 ounces. I am hoping for at least 2 ounces dried and cured. I kept tucking up until the flush started at 10 days out. I had only 28 inches of height in my cabinet so I had to keep them tucked to keep them from growing into the lights which were cfls. I don.t think the tucking even slows them down. I will try to post pics later. Hope this helps
