Screens for dry sift

Hi, Dabber.
Not an expert on screen materials, but here is my experience making dry ice hash.
I bought 5 gallon nylon bags with built in polyester? screens on bottom. Have only used a couple of times, but seem to be holding up. I am big on easy and simplicity. When done using, I run through the washing machine to clean up for the next time, which works well.

I have the bags. They work well for dry sift. I'm just wondering if the material they use is the only available.
Y'ain't been around with seeing the sorts of things I do. I'm a type who looks for different ways to do things. Hash dabs. Evaporative container cooling. Shatter brownies. Doing an old school method sounds nifty!

I think Ckbrew means the screens for doing silkscreening. I expect traditionally they were made of silk but likely nylon these days, you can find lots of options online probably some hash makers who use them too.
Of course as soon as they are labeled for hash making the price doubles for the same material. I know both can get pricey

I use stainless wire. I would bet these are pricey but I pulled a big stack out of the scrap pile. I have from an inch down to 75 uM. I can start with a bucket of flower and come out with grams of fine sift. As soon as I can figure out how to wire a vibrator I have, I'll automate it. For now I just use my hand to stir it. The one I found draws too much on start and it flips breakers. I need to get it to soft start.
This is the difference from 300uM to 75uM. It's crazy how much green comes out.

Thanks for the wire screen suggestions. For what I'm looking to do, they would not be appropriate. But I do want to get a set of those sifters.

I assume you’ve found all the screens online, various qualities and prices. This type of thing is what most dry sift guys are using

I'm super keen on the Moroccan sift method. Some y'all know I like trying different things with my weed. For y'all others, I like trying different things with my weed. The more I think about doing something different, the more I think old school. I run into a conundrum when I realize my preferred dabbing method is far from old school. Dry sift is about as old school as I can think. Processing wise. Smoking flower is the old schoolest, but I'm not a smoker. Hash and kief are the only things I'm interested in smoking. I might look for a box vaporizer.
I have the bubble bags and have made DI, IWH, and dry sift. The machines and pro pieces are great, but not in my budget and I don't have space to store much more than a shoe box. Rolls of any micron poly screen are less than ten dollars and are easy to store. Stretching screen over a 5-gallon bucket might work the same as the screen-over-bowl method they use in the video. Another option is using bubble bags high on the bucket instead of inside, but I don't know how much abuse they can take.
I don't grow the pounds so many of you grow and micro my ghetto as I am able. This is just something I'm interested in trying. Something different. Those hash dabs I made were different enough I can't remember finding similar online.

Black mesh of some sort is what they're using. I don't know they mentioned size or material.
I've seen two versions of this. One starts with pre-ground material. The other starts with whole buds. I know there are folks in here who pre-grind material and run in over screens. The downside to grinding, I see, is crushing of trichomes and breaking up the biomass. High speed, coffee grinder kind of grinding, I mean. Again, I don't know the video method. Starting with whole bud crushes trichomes, I'm sure, but not like high speed and the grind is not as fine after the smacking.
Grinding and running over a screen or in a box like some non-Moroccan folk do is pretty much the same end product the actual-Moroccans get. I want to slap some Lidocaine patches on myself and make like a Moroccan for the experience. I've never been Moroccan.
