s62’s Grow #2 - Auto Mania!

I generally avoid run-off if I can (super soil), but I don’t think a single time will hurt. Do you? Also, would you water the drip line to run off, or the whole pot? Approximately how much water (a range is fine) would you expect it to take to get run off? Weed Pharma was warning me earlier that he over watered a seedling with a liter.

s62, they are lovely but look like they could use a little more light. You don't want a lanky stem like that which can fall over as more leaves come out. I'd give them some support, maybe add a bit more soil to shorten stem and get them closer to light. https://www.growweedeasy.com/tall-marijuana-seedling

I totally agree w/ Canuck: you don't want to limit the area of moisture around the developing roots or the roots won't grow out seeking more water. It's a balancing act that one gets a sense of with practice--or at least that's how things have gone for me in hydro.

Can’t lower my T5s much more. Should I just go ahead and blast them with the LEC? Will try to add some soil to shore things up.
Thank you thank you thank you!

Shit. Does the Crystal Meth look like it’s got Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV) to anyone else? Mottling and that new leaf looks pretty damn crooked. Uh-oh :/

I waited as long as I could, but finally pulled the helmet off of my Jack Herer, it looks sad. Going to see if it is going to catch up, they usually do, but I may have waited to long.

lol, you’re hardly a noob! TMV = tobacco mosaic virus. It’s a virus that causes mottling and twisted, slow growth.

Yeah, I was going to set my lec at 24” initially, and then drop it to 18” around 4-5 nodes. Does that sound right?

s62 I had a leaf like that one one of my plants, and I've seen one or two crop up before on previous grows. I'm pretty sure that it was a little bit of mutation but not TMV because the rest of the leaves were dark green.

I wonder if it has to do with the HUMONGOUS demand for seeds and perhaps breeders aren't being as careful??? I've been wondering about some of the weird stuff I'll see when everyone else in the box is growing perfectly.

Day 14 Update:
Time for another update! Nothing major to announce, except that tonight I turned on the LEC! I figured the T5’s had done their job, even though I’ve still got a little sprout growing. Hoping the LEC speeds them along their way.

Crystal M.E.T.H. looking sick and weird as hell. Only on its third node, even though it sprouted before the Six-Shooter.

I think they look like they enjoy there home. That dang mottling in the last pic wish I knew why some seeds carry that? But she'll grow fine I hope. Great start.

everybody looks happy and healthy...give the ugly duckling, crystal, a little time and see how she turns out...As for TMV i dont think so..i had several leaves on one plant that looked like the perfect candidate but that didnt last long... wait a bit, She might surprise you....!

s62 when they young ,they don't need much water, for sure, I was always told you want to make the roots hunt for water, makes them strongly supposedly.
I've used KindSoil quite alot, when I first started growing indoors, and it's good stuff, but if you ever water by accident to much, there goes all the good stuff, and they start yellowing to soon before harvest, but all you got to do is topdress with 4-5 handfuls of KindSoil. And your fine.
I started using sauciers, and if I did get to much run off, it would suck right back up in your SmartPots, in 10-15minutes.
Phil is a good guy, I don't know if he still does it, but he used to send you free KindSoil if you sent him some pictures of your buds,

Wow, daas, you know the folks over at KindSoil? Cool! Thanks for the tip about top dressing.
