RoyalNugs (or anyone) tell me more about Optic Foliar Switch

You mentioned this product that your friend uses, so I bought a jug. The directions mention using on day 7 and 17 of flower cycle. It also says that it must be used with their special transport. Is there any reason why it can't just be mixed with water? Does your friend spray the entire plant or just the site where buds are forming.

At this point, I think my remaining plants are fine (no sign of hermie or bananas) so I don't think I'll need the spray for this crop. Just want to make sure I use it correctly on next crop if needed.

Thanks to anyone for some info on this product.

I believe transport is a surfactant. Long story short it breaks surface tension of water and allows the plant to more easily absorb the foliar treatment. It's not necessary but for optimal performance blah blah blah.

My friend that used switch had a fogger so he didn't find it necessary to use transport. If you can get a fine enough mist I think you'll be fine. If you're limited to a spray bottle, maybe transport is your best bet.

The fogger is indiscriminate. It gets everywhere whether you like it or not.

Never foliar spray with the lights on.

Btw, transport is great for any foliar treatments. Humic/fulvic acid comes to mind. Kelp. Compost tea. Etc...

In that case I guess I'll go ahead and buy the transport also. AND, just to clarify, this product is to help reduce the chance of hermies?? Is that correct??

Yes, that's correct. I've never tried it myself, but we had a grower in our old group who said it worked for them. They started getting hermies early in flower and used this product, and they said the plant stopped herming.
