Rosin presses

Nova discount code I was emailed a few days ago: ARDENT2018 for $30 off and free expedited shipping.

I got a decarboxylator too. I'm going to use Tat's method for tincture (with a fan or gentle heat, this time), but also going to eat the ground buds in food. I figure if the stuff gets in me, it doesn't have to extracted and concentrated all the time.

@alltatup

Just a suggestion here. You say you let it soak in the everclear for a week? If I were you I would freeze the nug seperate from the everclear. But freeze them both.

You only need to wash for 20-30 seconds. Then strain. Leaving the bud in alcohol for too long draws out all the chlorophyll. That's why your product comes out green. Also you should never squeeze while youre draining for the same reason. It turns it green from forcing the chlorophyll out.

First batch from a wash should always be golden. If you do a second wash which you can it would just be a bit darker. It only takes the 20 or 30 seconds to get the good stuff out of the plant.

It will still have the same potency I swear.

UrbZ I read different sites on how long to soak the bud, and I believe you: it doesn't take that long for all the frozen goodies to drop off the plant material. I followed directions from a site I really liked, but I will try it your way on my next batch of tincture.

I was wondering why it was so green, with only 5% water in the Everclear, and now I know. Plus I definitely squeezed my nut milk bags: I didn't want to lose a drop of tincture!!!

Thanks for pointing this out to me!!!

WHAT DO I CALL THIS STUFF?

It works!!! I just used the liquid pad for my Plenty vaporizer for the first time, and dabbed some of the rosin onto the pad. It created a good number of puffs, and it's a strong head stone. I'm hoping that it develops into deep overall relaxation.

Now I have to learn the difference between rosin; wax; shatter; etc. What do I call this? Medicated Goo?

Ok, I just found out: rosin is solvent-less, and uses only heat; wax uses a solvent. So I have WAX.

You are correct, Dingus: it is pretty gooey, not waxy and thick. THEREFORE, I'm reconsidering a rosin press which will create, of course, a rosin and not an "oil."

Can't you get rid of most of the chlorophyll by putting it in strong sun light? Say you had some in there to get rid of or wanted to be sure

To be honest I don't even know how long that would take I found a dead leaf on the bottom of my tent that was dry and crispy and green and I would say at least 5 to 7 days old and that was in wide open light from the LEDs

My friend who made his with the giant shop press LOVES his. His greatest enjoyment is taking freshly cured bud, squishing it, and putting the rosin directly into his dabbing rig. He says the rush and explosion of flavor REALLY does it for him in a way that nothing else touches. And yes, I really like it too.

His set up is big, complicated, and messy with hydraulic oil, and as someone pointed out, watching him work started to feel like we were free-basing. He also goes through about 15-20 pounds of pot per year and says "by the time you own a bong, you probably don't really get that high anymore".

I decided it was too much work for me, at least while I'm still working full time.

I know, I need to quit, or at least reduce, how much I smoke my week, but it's still my favorite. I'm trying the whole plant approach, eating decarbed buds, either baked or sprinkied into food. I've really enjoyed your sharing about your Nova, Tat.

@RosettaStoned

I have not read this. Its interesting though. Makes since as well. This is why I tend to stick with 99.9% isopropyl. It is only .1% water. All the extra stuff stays behind in the processing of the extract.

DingusKhan Something you may want to try: I freeze my leaves as I trim my plants, all the young leaves and bud sites I pinch off. If you gently cook that in water with a little coconut or olive oil, just simmer it for 8 minutes or so, and consume, you will get a tremendous high. (I've always eaten the leaves on an empty stomach). I mixed all the leaves together from 8 different strains and it was powerful. I'm really surprised to discover that no one seems to know about how packed with psychoactive materials the leaves are. And I'm talking about leaves cut off in the first few weeks of flowering.
