Rosin presses

You know I used to make bho( I think that's the tec. Name) wax made with butane and to get the butane to evaporate I would put it on a hott plate type thing tht was made to make pancakes useing electricity. U take 1 Pyrex dish and add water then add a second Pyrex dish with your tincture into the first dish. This would speed the process up a ton and just a suggestion if u dnt end up with goo

I hope this make sense I'm not good with writing instruction. Ps by saying add second Pyrex dish into the first I do not mean poor the tincture into the water

The reason why I got the Nova decarb machine is to use as LITTLE HEAT AS POSSIBLE in making anything. Trying to preserve maximum terpenes.
I took out the dehumidifier and put a fan over the tincture and ots evaporating quickly. It smells fabulous, less like ever lear and more perfumey.

It is so freakin cool, I just love it. It decarbs bud at a controlled, low temp, and the bud smells fantastic when it comes out. I have some decarbed bud stored in jars with boveda packs, and it continues to smell so aromatic. So I used decarbed bud to make my tinctures, and now I'm converting some of that tincture into goo/rosin. For me, it was an excellent investment.

See this topic to read more about it: https://forum.growweedeasy.com/forum/growing-community/134554-decarboxylator-machine

I like rosin but the lipids and waxes in it mess my lungs up. I'm fine with shatter that's been cleaned well. I know it strips it of it's terps but I just add some back in, of whatever I want it to be.
ever try freezing the ethenol wash first and straining the waxes out then evaporating the alcohol. I have no experience making any, just read about it.

That the exact process I use. I decarb then I put my 99.9% isopropyl in the freezer along with the decarbed product. I'll leave it in there for about an hour before I strain. And then strain into a pan and let it evaporate. I then refreeze the same nug with more isopropyl to do a second wash. I get some pretty good quality "qwiso" with this method.

I'm sorry if I'm not understanding, and if this is a sillyt question, but do I understand that you are re-dissolving your rosin in isopropyl and then re-evaporating it off? Is the purpose of the repeat washes to purify the THC from the other lipids, waxes and terpenes?

Stoned, I'm going to have to look up and learn about the "lipids and waxes"; as I wrote above, I want to be able to vape the rosin on top of some bud.

UrbZ, is the isopropyl alcohol better than everclear? I think I'd be afraid to use it.

I do a second wash with the bud again. After my first batch of extract is ready. I do a second with the bud I already used. Its not as potent as the first batch and comes out darker but you add another 3rd onto your final product by doing a second wash.

I do nothing with my extract once its done. I place it in silicone containers inside freezer baggies in the freezer. It lasts forever

Okay so here's how the isopropyl and Everclear differences work.

The lower percent of alcohol in the mix the more water there is. And literally they are made from alcohol and water.

Everclear is actually made with water as well.

There are a million different versions of isopropyl some with more some with less water.

99.9% is literally .1% water. I've never used Everclear so I do not know exactly how much water content it has. But I would say probably 80/20.

99.9% is the purest you can get which gives you 100% evaporation the water inside alcohol actually stays in your final product and doesn't evaporate. The more alcohol you actually have the better evaporation you get.

Also this is exactly how I smoke my bud. I pack a bowl get a couple good tokes going so cherries are hot then I drop a dab.... and well you know what happens from there.

Look up methods of making qwiso.

UrbZ yeah I've read about qwisos!! Where I live I can get Everclear 190 proof, so there's 5% water in it. I got it for tincture, so I could take it sublingually.

That makes sense I've never used alcohol to do a tincture. But I have used propylene glycol alcohol to make a vape tincture that is also food grade safe. It seems like Everclear would be a good way to make a tincture though. I found that the qwiso is the easiest way for me to make dabs / shatter. If I'm impatient i use amy seedling heating pad underneath my baking sheet. It takes hours off the time.
