Thanks dirtymike and Going2fast ! I appreciate the compliments.

I've had a few of their Gen 1's that died on me after a while so they sent me a case of 4 to replace the ones I've bought from them. The next run I'm going to set them up so that I got 2 on top oscillating in opposing directions and, maybe, the other two on the bottom although I have a different idea for under the canopy.

I have to say that I really like these Gen 2's. My ACI rep, Nick, told me that you can daisy chain them also so you can have them in series but only have to plug one into power.

They also have a natural wind setting where they raise and lower fan speed to mimic nature on their own.

Didn't want to wait for amber to show up as I was getting into week 15 so I went ahead and cut them down and hung them. Now the fun begins with trying to keep them as close to 60/60 as I can. Humidity shouldn't be a problem, but temp may be as we're gonna see some sunny days coming up out this way. I took a lesson from @Zen_seeker and decided to re-set the net to be able to spread them out and get some air in between the flowers but it's pretty damn dense in there so I have a feeling I'm going to have to separate the branches from the main stem and line hang them. You know you grew some weight when one of the main branches splits off the main stem because the flowers are so heavy!!!:cool:

Set the fan to high and pointed it at an angle to the back wall so that I get a good swirl going in the tent. I'm going to try and run them at around 45% - 50% humidity the first few days then raise it back to 60% to get the initial moisture out of the plant.

I'll start removing fan leaves in a couple days depending on if I have to separate branches from the main stem or not. If I have to remove them from the main stem I may do a rough wet trim on each branch before I line hang them.

That was more work than setting up the original damn net! Phew!!!:sweating::laugh:

In my view the first few days drying is where it's at and the slower the better here in my experience.

I have picked up a second hand wine fridge for free, about 200ltrs, and it maintains humidity around 60% and temp can be varied from about 8⁰C to 18⁰C. It should hold about 1.5, maybe 2lb if wet trimmed.

It's a hack solution but it may just work brilliantly. Have to fix the thermostat first though
 
There's a seconds store down the street from me where they have around 40 - 50 wine fridges of varying sizes. I was tempted to maybe pick one up and see if I could get it to work as a dry/cure chamber but they want $500! For a seconds appliance? Pass. I may look into a dehydrator called HerbsNow. They're around $200. Check it out.

A couple of trustworthy sources told me it works well and can usually dry your bud to storage level in 96 hours depending on how much you load into the machine.

I agree that low and slow is the best way but it's pretty dense in there so I want to try and keep it dry enough to not promote any mold by removing some of the bulk moisture and then allowing capillary action to rehydrate, evening out the moisture content throughout the plant. I might have to separate the branches from the main stem and line hang them. It's essentially solid flower from the perimeter to the center of the plants with a few leaves thrown in for good luck!!
 
Keep an eye out on your local market place listings.

Drying/curing of plants is a closely guarded secret, intellectual property, of most commercial growers but I do know they use fridges to obtain the best possible dry. Even then they are losing about 50% of the plants terps.

I'm going to experiment with this and try and slow the initial dry right down over the first few days, maintaining about 60% RH but starting off with lower temps and slowly raising them.

Last dry I completely stuffed it in my grow room. I would have been better off with no fan at all and the AC stripped the moisture out of the buds way to fast even though it maintained a reasonable temp. I couldn't keep the RH where it had to be and we wet trimmed too...everything added up to a way too fast and a bit overdried...I had to slowly rehydrate in the jars. I got better results hanging them as a whole plant in my garage for 2 to 4 weeks than trying to control it in my grow room. This grow will be a combination of the garage and fridge to compare.

Water leaves are starting to crisp up a bit. I may start to remove the branches from the main stem today or wait one more day. Doesn't look like much leaf material that I'll need to remove on rough trim. Set up another fan to create a little more swirl in the tent. I'll raise the net and hang the branches off the net.

I did not consider SCROG could work for drying. It is not something I will do but it gives me the idea of putting up a net up when hanging branches.
You gave me a good idea so I am giving you a thumb. G2F will be so jealous if he sees this.
 
I already gave you the thumb but am glad you followed up.
I have been hanging from three support bars that my tent came with. It is a yoyo and twistie-tie jungle and I cannot use half my tent because the exhaust duct and fan get in the way of the support bars. It is enough space as the plants dry but a pain to keep the branches from touching.
 
Built using 5 expandable curtain rods. The upright one has a locking mechanism so you can lock it between the floor and the ceiling and the 2 horizontals attached with electrical tape sitting on adjustable o-rings
 
I made the horizontal bars I used for the ScrOG out of some metal electrical conduit and hung the net on it. I used 1/2" PEX hose clips to clip the bars to the corner poles. The net I have is the elastic kind so I stretched it out and zip tied it to the bars. The corners have hooks. This allows me to be able to slide the horizontal bars up and down the corner bars but stay in place when I need them too. Once I get all the branches hung I'll lift the net higher so that I get a good look at how they are progressing.
 
The way I did mine I can't easily lift the net as I have 2 curtain rails along the wall that sit in hooks that are screwed into the wall. I kept it pretty high though.
