Root zone Ph

i have a plant in FFOF, she’s healthy looks good and I maybe being overly analytical but her run off has consistently been 6.9. I put 6.3 in I get 6.9 out, her sister (both Aurora Indica) 6.7. While both of these are ok, I would like the 6.9 one to come down a few points for sure. Today I watered at 5.9, 6.7 out of the one that’s been 6.9. To my (limited) understanding that means my rootzone ph is now 6.7. Next time I water and check the ph should I anticipate a larger drop since I’m washing out part of the 5.9 I just put in. I don’t think I have any need to do a full flush just trying to adjust the ph down a bit and I guess I don’t fully understand how this run off idea works other than you want it between 6.3 and 6.7. And I’m sure it’s probably not an exact science.
thanks.

My plants have done that since day one. I put in 5.5 every time I water or feed. My runoff is consistently 6.7 or higher even with the 5.5 going in every water. Ive never shown one burn or deficiency the entire grow. Im in week 3 of flower now plus 2 full months of veg.

So I was hanging out at the local grow shop and I got into a conversation with an oldhead grower there about it. He explained to me in perfect logical reasons to why this is good and the fact that is happening means what you are doing everything right.

1st) Nutes and soil have natural buffers this should happen.

2nd) If you are putting in 5.5 and getting high runoff that means that every nutrient available to the plants is absorbed when the soil buffers back up. At one point or another your pH is in the correct range for any nutrient need basically.

I wouldnt worry and just keep doing things as you are.

That makes sense. Thanks. I guess I just needed to understand how it works. Guess I’ll just stick in the 6.3-6.5 range as I typically do. I really haven’t given them much for nutes other than what is in the FFOF, gave a little earlier and got some burn. Gave 1/4 dose today to see the reaction as I’m getting close to flipping.

Hey 99, your doing just right, no need to flush, especially if your only a point or two out, flushing is ruff on them.

I wasn’t going to, I guess I just wasn’t really understanding how it worked. They are doing well, just trying to understand them better. It’d be nice if they could talk, well I guess if I got really baked.
