Remember the 80's?

Back in the 80's when I first started growing indoors we didnt know much like we do now (at least I didn't lol) I was a florescent and potting soil guy but every month I would devour my issues of High Times mag. I remember I was so facinated by those ads for the Phototron, wanted one so bad but even back then I think they were about 300.00 so needless to say I never got one. Looking back now I'd say they were probably mostly hype and a gimmick. Anyway did any of you folks ever have one or know someone that did? I think they used to advertise that they guaranteed 100% females, and at the time.I don't think feminized seed had came around yet.

The dumb things I did in the 80s OMG!!
I can't say I recall the Phototron alas but I remember pinching fan leaves from a friend's dad's greenhouse grow, drying them under a terrarium light, and smoking them :o

A friend gave me a phototron 3000. He had kids getting old enough to ask "what's that"? I used it with supplemental CFL's on top for my first grow. I was pleased with first grow but it was really too small. Single plant filled it completely! With each grow I keep making improvemennts!!!

It's soil. I am still new to this game and while DWC has impressive grows and a lot of follows here, it just seems more complicated than soil. Okay DWC growers, jump in!!! 😉

My homies and I tried drying some ruderalis we found growing wild and smoking it. We dried it in the oven and smoked it on a pop can pipe. No one got high! LMAO

Ran a BBS in the 80s, had my first joint, first girlfriend (crazy as she was/is) First car, first speeding ticket >_<, First heated lecture with parents due to speeding ticket, yadda yadda yadda. Sorry dontknownuttin , I couldn't resist. >_<

Before the internet, there was a way for different types of computers to talk with one another despite totally different operating systems. People could talk with one another via chat, leave messages like we do here today, trade games and other progams, and make little nifty animations which sadly I never see today. I ran a C-Net BBS on a C128D, then moved to an Amiga Multi user BBS using 4 phone lines. Had over 1200 users. It ran on a 640MB hard drive lol. The C-128D version ran on 3 1541 floppy drives, and a SFD1001 drive. Baud rate was between 1200 to 2400. My system was set up to refuse anyone at 300 baud. Other BBS programs were like Searchlight BBS, or ARB BBS. C-Net was my favorite. (Not to be confused with the download site) BBS stood for Bulletin Board Service. And you would call an admin a SYSOP or their underlings a CO-SYSOP.

Finally got caught up on all my replies =) 007 My wife while I was away tried using a new pipe that came for me and I just found out she has no experience what so ever in this field. She said it didn't work and kept putting more and more bud in till it got clogged. I opened it to find out she never put the screens in and the entire pipe was clogged with resin. Using a small rubber squeegee used to clean pipes, I was able to scrape the entire pipe then using a hot plate mixed the resin with some ash and put screens in this time around. After she used that, she vegetated for about half the day lol.
