I`ve had some foxtailing as well. What I think it is is the night time temps here. It`s been very cold, weather coming down and across from Siberia and that night time temps have stressed the girls. I mean, for us, it`s been very cold. In a circle covering the lasses with issues is the rough area the initial air blows in from my 6" fan but I`m not sure. Also, I`ve had enough of growing for a bit and I`ve not been as attentive. I`m building up my stock and then it`s lights out for a nice long break. I`m going to grow fewer next time as my yields have steadily increased and I think that this as well as a break will re-focus me. If I was to say what it was it would be three things: a) temps, b) lack of care and c) mucking around with the light schedule when in veg tent. Three to four months and it`s over for quite a-whiles ....Ice Breaker is a new-ish strain-perhaps she`s not as stable to less than ideal conditions...don`t know....great experience though and something I can learn from and move on
Good perspective, PaganRich. Sometimes, stepping back is the only way to get perspective and clarity. Maybe doing something completely different, like planning an outdoor grow with supersoil and everything would be a good change of pace. Also get you thinking about being in different weather.
DingusKhan...greetings mate and thank`s for the head thoughts...can`t do an external grow as not an option which is sad as I`d love to give it a try. Would be a great change though I must admit. It`s weird but even indoors the weather can still make an impact apart from just heat...
Sounds like a plan, Pagan, if you have a secure supply of meds to last you. I have been steady growing since July 2016 and sometimes I ponder a break--but I love the activity so much, that I discard the idea. I will be forced to break this summer for a surgery...
Red Diesel....Getting to grips with this lass. Reckon next grow will be a bit taller but really enjoying this grow with her. She`s a very pretty lass...Pics 1-4....Pics 5-7 show Red Dragon. She`s doing okay considering however I will not be taking this strain any further after this grow as a couple of good review sites...one I think was Leafy which I really like...said it can give feelings of paranoia in some cases so a no-no for me...still, a nice grow
Morning PaganRich, man, those are beautiful, I would be honored, to have
any one of those, for a girlfriend, they are hot looking, plus they got them f-ckn, long legs, ooh,la,la.
And good morning to you too, mate. I find that the legs on the frames make a good height gauge for me to use to lollypop and a taller leg to gauge when to flip that`s why my girls have a generally standard look to a certain height. I don`t stress about lost buds below that and really think it hammers the buds up top out wider a bit. Out of interest mate, have you ever read Teaming with Microbes by Jeff Lowenfels and Wayne Lewis....The organic grower`s guide to the soil food web...it`s 25 USD and a real gem of a book...not night-time reading though
Morning, it's probably evening ,where your at,but I love the frames, of all your plants, super easy to water too.
No, I've never read that book, but I'm going to check it out, and thanks.
Hey PaganRich, to be honest, never tried one, they would have to be great, though, especially if you want to feed them a little everyday, your medium, would have to dry out quicker, which equals, more food, bigger plants. They fukn, high priced as hell, ain't they ? I'm gonna break down an buy a few one of these days, though. Have a great day, PaganRich
Pagan, I have some of the red dragon seeds as well, here are my notes on it:
RED DRAGON BF 8-9 wks short" THC 22.00%, CBD 1.2%
Genetics: Sativa-dominant hybrid; Pakistani Kush x Brazilian Utopia Haze.
Effects: cerebral high and long-lasting, relaxing body effect
I think if you're worried about too much of a sativa racey head high, just let her get more amber triches and that should put the emphasis back on "relaxation." but why am I telling you this? You already know to let her go longer before harvest.
Do you have CBD isolate on hand? I buy it and I infuse it in alcohol and put it in the freezer. That way I can add it to another tincture. AND it's good to have around in case you get paranoid, racing heart, etc. You put some CBD tincture under your tongue, hold it there, and it very quickly begins to counteract the too intense THC. You should keep some on hand.
That`s excellent info alltatup...I do get those effects-adverse-practically all day/ every day...it`s exhausting...can`t thank you enough for that info...I promise not to raid your village and burn your house down as a sign of my appreciation...but all joking aside, Thank you
DAAS...I`ve found them to be better for growth/ roots/ buds than smart fabric pots. You`re right though they are pricey but if you look after them they do last longer than cloth though man the perlite leaks out everywhere...hope your days going well mate
Slightly off topic today...some other lasses from the veg tent coming out for a trim, feed & structure...reckon one week and the first 2 girls may be ready for flipping...Pics 1-3 shows a Honeysuckle-excellent lass to grow, small very tight resinous buds reminiscent of Critical Kush-she`s pricey but often is sent out as a freebie. Yields are pretty good however she takes a while to get a feel for how she grows...I love conker size dense buds wet which when dried are like rock solid bullets/ acorns-absolutely beautiful and a lovely hit and that`s what you get with her. ...Pic 4 shows Ice Breaker....shes been trimmed, fed and support added...I have 2 growing and that`s it for me with her. She`s nice, a great, uplifting stoned hit but she`s a tricky grow ( Had banana`s on the last one just prior harvest )and she can give variations to her buds. Personally, I`m not sure this strain is consistent or stable and I`ve grown her around 6 times now and whilst she`s nice I prefer more consistent grows.Another pricey one which is usually sent out as a freebie. Pics 5-8 show a vegging Red Diesel, again trimmed, fed and structure added. I`m really loving growing this strain, just right up my street and I`m getting a feel for how to tackle her...lovely lass
Thanks DAAS...Currently indoors watching a blizzard outside. Minds me of when I was a kid....love the snow but it`s happening less and less where I live sadly
