RDWC checking Jack Herer autoflower trichomes for harvest and cycle change

Happy growing everyone, I'm posting some pictures of a Jack Herer auto-flower 60 days flowering, and checking for trichomes readiness to harvest, I think I see more clear trichomes than cloudy ones, so do you think I can go a week longer before harvesting? My other question is does it matter at this point if I change from the 18/6 cycle for the JH to the 12/12 cycle to bloom the NL photoperiod, or should I just wait until I harvest the JH?

Someone with more auto experience needs to answer the light question but you should definitely let it go at least another week until it is truly ripe. Any flowering time given by the breeder is optimistic at best and fiction is the norm.

Nice bushy auto! Good job. From my perspective that needs way more than one more week. Your pistils are mostly white and the trics are all clear and it hasn't really bulked up yet. I'd give it AT LEAST two more weeks. You can switch to 12/12 but I would majorly increase your light when you do that to increase the flower bulk.

I'd have to agree with Franklin. AT LEAST.
I will also add that you need to be checking trichomes on the buds themselves, not sugar leaves. Most if not all fuzzy hairs should be darker in color and starting to curl inward.
I have a Chunkadelic autoflower that looks very similar in stage to your plant, and at this point, I plan on it having about four more weeks.
Whatever you do, be patient, it'll be worth the wait!

EDIT: It seems like that plant will have a long flower time if ur already at 60 days. I'm guessing pic [NODE="2"]Forum[/NODE] & [NODE="4"]Blogs[/NODE] are weeks apart?

Thanks, I really think I like autos for my small tent, I wanted to do a side-by-side of a known photoperiod to an auto and feel it's less time for something to go wrong. I posted the two plants side by side.

Thank you for your suggestions, and I agree with you on the overly optimistic growth time to harvest. I've seen 65-85 days to harvest for JH auto. You're growing everything I want, especially Durban and Lemon Haze!

Thanks, responses help to confirm the learning process, I'm slow to chop, can't afford a slip-up now. But, I'm trying to decide whether to dump the NL but it's so healthy and strong with tons of bud sites just waiting. There's still about 3' left in height in the tent for the plant to grow and it will have the entire tent sog grid to tie it down if it grows too tall.

You are encountering the big problem of growing photo's and auto's in the same tent. Just when the autos need more light, the photos need less. If you cut the light for the photos, the autos may not amber up. If you keep the light going for the autos the photos become unmanageable. Had this happen to me this summer when the seed supplier mislabeled some seeds. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. I suggest catering to the needs of the stronger plant or at least the one you favor.

Thanks for your input, it's a learning curve for sure lol. I also have (2) Northern light photoperiods from Growers Choice from a previous seed purchase in the tent that I thought had identity problems that still persist from the beginning of the growing. Only 2 of the 5 seeds germinated and I had to remove the hull carefully with water drops until the hull fell off or the rot would have occurred. However, the seedling stunted in the first 3 weeks of growth. Recovering after a week of using hydrogen peroxide and replacing a new airstone that was defective, it went into pre-blooms like its sister and the JH auto, and I think it is still pre-blooming because no real buds have formed, but it's only a fraction of the size of its sister and the internodes are about 1/2 apart. I'm keeping the plant until 12/12 to see if it produces and also to keep the bucket in the system. I can remove it but it would be a lot.
