Questions about water in an indoor soil grow.

Do I even need to water and why? I'm kidding. Ok, here's the deets. 10 gal fabric pot, indoors, water only soil mix but I do add vermicompost and compost teas. I'm on a well with no softner. My ph runs a consistent 7.8 year round. I adjust down to 6.2-to 6.8 and try to change it up each watering. Question is do I need to check my ppm in my well water and would it make much of a difference in the above soil grow. Also, I have a sump pump in my basement. When it rains enough, the sump fills up then gets pumped outside. I've tested ph and it has been a consistent 7.0. What do you think about using that water for the plants?

Hey Blueto, if you got good supersoil, and all you are using is teas, all you need to do is feed her good phed water. Your soil will take care of the rest.
You gonna have some fine tasting, and smoking final product.

Yes, you should test EC (or PPM, but EC is better - most meters measure both).
EC will tell you how much salt is already in the water. If it is very high (potential on a well), you may be hindering the plants ability to get water. Knowing EC outflow values is particularly helpful.
You can probably get away without measuring EC in water-only soil, but you will have more knowledge and control if you do and its a really good idea to know the EC of that water. (rain water too)
