Question re: grow medium

I am just getting started. I got my tent yesterday and have it all set up. I've acquired just about everything I need to have to do this right, with any loose ends being very minor and affordable.
One thing that I seem to have missed in my research is what proportions to mix my medium in. I am using soilless mix (spag/peat), with perlite for drainage.
What should my ratios be?

A common standard mix is about 1/3 perlite. You can add more of course -any percentage all the way up to growing in straight perlite. The more you add the more often you'll have to water, but the roots do like that fluffiness that perlite provides.
