Question fo Nebula or Sirius

Hi NebulaHaze and SiriusFourside, I hope you're both doing well.

I was just re-reading your article, 7 ways to impove bud quality down in the nutrients and supplements section
http://www.growweedeasy.com/7-tips-to-growing-top-shelf-buds#better-buds-nutrients-and-supplements

I'm not sure when it was published and you're both down as the author of the article but I was just wondering about the Botanicare Sweet Carbo line.
Did you end up trying it out? There was mention of reporting back when you'd tried it but as I mentioned I've got no idea how long ago the article was written.
If you did try it out, how did it go?
Does it actually impart a flavour on the buds that wasn't originally there, or is it more to enhance the natural flavours of buds that already contain things like citrus or berry flavours?

I've been using GH FloraNectar (just plain sugar cane version) on my current grow Auto Afghan Kush Ryder, which is supposed to have a hash smell. Now to be honest I don't know what that's supposed to smell like but when I knock the buds around a little (unavoidable) getting the girls in and out of the tent for watering they smell like pineapple and fruit punch so I'm really interested to see how they taste/smell when I finally get to sample them and also what sort of results you guys had if/when you tried the Botanicare line out.

I'm also interested in hearing from the GWE family if anyone else has had experience with these sort of products.

On a side note, what strains have you two got on the go at the moment?

Just bumping this back up to the top of the list since it has been a few days with no response. N & S probably have a million notifications a day so probably didn't see the tags.

just bumping this back up again. Been 12 days since posting this thread.

yeah mate all good thanks. Just been playing lots of PS3 this week while waiting for buds to dry

they're both tagged in the original post so they would get a notification.

Hey OZ lemme give you a bump. Upsey daisy, OK there you go. Although I can't help with your question about supplements I can say that hash has a unique and wonderful smell. But I must also say that if your A.K.R. smells of pineapple and fruit punch, don't rock that boat bro. Matter of fact, I might just get me some Floranectar and give it a go

The Botanicare Sweet line is a very interesting supplement. To be honest, I didn't notice any particular difference, though I didn't do a side by side and didn't do it from beginning to end. It didn't seem to be doing anything. It's possible it may have made a difference, but I just don't think it was dramatic enough to justify. Part of why I stopped using it is I started wondering exactly what's in it, and if it's proven to be safe for human consumption. For example, they used to have these bulking supplements up until a few years ago (I can't remember the name, but I know Advanced Nutrients carried it and it's discontinued now, maybe Heavy Harvest? Or a different discontinued one...) that actually truly increased bud size consistently. Although the supplement was effective, we realized after the fact that it wasn't good for human consumption (was a carcinogen), so supplements that contained that ingredient got discontinued everywhere. As I was thinking about that, I figured I'd go a more natural route to altering bud smell/taste than the Sweet line, until it's more proven to be safe.

Wow ! Great information. I often wondered about things like this. A big selling point to my wonderful wife to grow my own. Knowing exactly what is going into my cannabis that is. Thank you

Great topic OzBud

Thanks for the reply Nebula. I cant notice anything special after using the FloraNectar (not that I have tried the same strain without it to compare)
