Question about switching from 18/6 to 12/12

Just thought I would get some other opinions on the light schedule flowering switch up. I would like to know whether other people switch right to 12-12 or if they prefer slowly lowering the hours on until it reaches 12 on & 12 off? Ex. 18-6,to 17-7,to 16-8, etcetera.
I ask because I feel like it may cause some shock to the plants switching immediately to 12on-12off from the vegetative stage.

I toss em right in the flower tent & they love it. -As long as the light is far enough away til they get used to the high wattage.

ive done the scale back before and the plants take longer to start flowering, just because the whole flowering switch is controlled by light sensitive hormones its way easier and faster to achieve flowering by switching right into 12 hours. its not what happens in nature but its much more time efficient

I used to do it 15 minutes every few days, they wont start producing the hormone until they get near 12 hours dark (some will go with less dark) for about 10+ days.

Quite the opposite actually. 12-12 right away does not shock them. It sends a clear message to start budding.
my outdoor plants look more stressed during the slow transition period to 12-12. Some start pushing 3 finger leaves out and look more like re-veg is happening. I never had that issue going straight to 12-12 before.
