It's getting cold here. There is a label at the back of my gas heater that uses NG saying 3600 Kcal/hr. I checked my gas station and found 8600 Kcal/m3 when my specific NG(must of it is methane, CH4) is burning. burning 1 mol NG produce 1 mol CO2
CH4 + 2O2 = CO2 + 2H2O
3600 (Kcal/hr) / 8600 (Kcal/m3) = 0.419 m3/hr CH4
0.419 m3/hr CH4 = 0.419 m3/hr CO2
1 m3 equals 1000 lit
Every mol of all ideal gases occupy 22.5 lit/mol at STP
CO2 mass is 44 gr/mol
Air mass is 29 gr/mol
0.419 (m3/hr) × 1000 (m3/hr) = 419 lit/hr CO2
419 (lit/hr) / 22.5 (lit/mol) = 18.62 mol/hr CO2
18.62 (mol/hr) × 44 (gr/mol) = 819.2 gr/hr CO2
My room dim are 3×3×4.5 meter equals 40.5 m3 or 40500 lit.
40500 lit / 22.5 (lit/mol) =1800 mol air
1800 mol × 29 (gr/mol) = 52200 gr air
To reach 1500 PPM CO2 i need 1100 PPM more CO2 as fresh air has 400 PPM CO2
52200 gr air × 1100 PPM = 57.42 gr CO2
My gas heater produce 805.2 gr/hr CO2.
57.42 gr CO2 / 819.2 (gr/hr CO2) = 0.070 hr
0.070 hr × 60 (min/hr) = 4min 12 sec
No molecule can get into my room or scape... lol. i know how to reach 1500 PPM. What i don't know is how to stay at 1500 PPM because i have no CO2 controller/indicator and i don't know how much CO2 my plants absorbe per hour. I know plants need more CO2 as they grow but if you give me some information i can stay at 1500 PPM more accurately.
Anyone here has CO2 indicator and a seal area?
