probably a dumb question about air filters

i have a mars hydro 4'' inline duct fan and i need to buy a new air filter. would an ac infinity 4'' refillable filter be compatible with the mars hydro fan?

Yup, good to go. 4" is 4"

Look at the connection where the filter attaches to the fan, and the CFM rating of both the fan and the filter. They need to be compatible. If the fan is too strong it may pull air through the filter without scrubbing it. If the fan is not strong enough it will work to pull air through the filter and reduce it's effectiveness. Google says ACI's refillable filter has a CFM of 210 and the Mars Hydro has a CFM of 205. As long as the numbers match or the fan is rated slightly lower than the filter you're good.

Should work fine. I have 2 of the 6" refillable filters and love them. Also the used charcoal is basically biochar that can be charged and added to organic soil to help microbes. I add my used carbon to my compost piles so it makes it into my living soil that way.
