Possible problem coming

Hello all, i really need input how i should handle this....

I live in a flat and have a grow going indoors in a 2x4 tent with 1 plant and it is harvest time in just a few days. Yesterday i got a notice that the landlord will be doing a five year inspection of all the flats in the building and this will be done during next week. I have no idea how they will perform this inspection but im guessing inspect the whole apartment! You can see the problem right? How the heck do i do now? I mean the plant isnt moveable really and during the day its sleeptime for the plant (i changed day/night period during summer due to extreme heat) so its even less moveable... I can of course close up the tent and hide the smell but i mean they will still see what i have. Please i need advice and fast!

Can you move the tent into a closet? Can you cover the plant in black trash bags to keep out the light and then temporarily move it elsewhere?

Howdy baffle, Could You go to a garden store or nursery and buy some aromatic herbs (Basel, sage, and /or thyme) to place in the front portion of the tent as a legitimate reason for the grow tent (cover or place a 'screen' cloth in front of the cannabis) just in case they want to see inside during the inspection. Be sure to be present during the inspection to 'guide' they away from the 'trouble' spot.
Is this inspection done by the landlord, a housing authority person, or an employee of the landlord? If necessary, try bribery! LOL!!
Good luck

Agree. Have a bud in a pill bottle in your pocket. If it comes up and seems plausible, offer a sample.

You might find the inspector is "supportive" .

Thanks guys for the suggestions! The tent is already in a bigger closet space and i can close it up completely so no lights leak out but during the day as i said its nighttime for the plant so there is no light just air circulation. The inspection is probably done by an employee of the landlord and it is mandatory for all the apartments in the building but if i close the tent completely they have no authority to open the tent or even ask about it i dont think. Thinking about calling the landlord today and ask about how they will do this inspection, since i am working from home atm it seems like a reasonable question right? IF anyone should catch on can i say that i am running a growing experiment with CBD weed (legal weed)? Could that be a good explanation for my tent, what do you think?

You said they're just about ready for harvest? Harvest. Stick em in paper bags in the fridge. Been drying my last few harvests in the fridge, not much smell comes out. Remove any baking soda if you want the weed to smell like weed. Avoid pizza leftovers in the fridge. (LOL).

They're gonna check the roof materials and make sure there's no leaks, so expect fully they will get in your closets, and everywhere except your fridge.

;)

Good luck!

When I managed apartments in Salem, OR we had inspections by the city housing folks every 5 years with an escort from manager or maint. person which is what I suspect is happening here. All they are really interested in is leaky faucets and GFI circuit breakers near sinks. They didn't open closets or cupboards. Took 2 minutes. I would call the manager with your concerns about being there working. Plausible enough. She should tell you what to expect. If you are zipped tight, lights and fans off, with closet door closed I doubt they would even open it unless their may be a breaker box in there, but even that is doubtful. they cannot legally move your things around or open personal items. This is a guess from experience but I think no problem. Good Luck!

When they do inspections . Faucets toilets and hvac are inspected making sure of no leaks going on. They change out the air filter. Also they go to each room and check smoke detector.

Oh yeah I forgot about the smoke detectors! I carried a few 9v batts with me so I could change out right then so she did not write them up.

Yeah i think it will be fine just as long as i try to eliminate the smell. The inspectors have no reason, obligation or authority to go in my property like the tent so i feel pretty confident about it. And i have no smoke alarm in the closet so it should be totally fine.

I think maybe there is about 1 week left because all brown hairs are not curled in and what i can see is still a mix between cloudy and transparent triches so my solution for this will be zipped up and odor control :)

Just say your not well at the moment and can they change it to another date and time.Something along the lines of o cough and a temperature will probably make them run a mile, lol. That should give you atleast a couple of weeks to finish them and put everything away out of sight.
