please help what causes seeds not to grow

just to add 1 little secret I soak my rabid rooters or root riots in a clonex solution then let them drain before putting seeds in them, and because the seeds are so fragile i will split the root riot in half lay the seed on one half and gently close the other. if they are to wet or hot they might not sprot

Ive used rapids rooters and have 100% of the 11 ive popped. First two died of mothering lol

i soak them in a half strength seedling solution and clonex rapid root. I hope it works better for you.

Man I put them in a cup of water for like 12hour until it sinks, then in paper towels like you do, leave them to germinate until they come outta the shell and have leaves, burry the root and leave the stem sticking out the top above the coco soil or a high quality seedling soil, leave it in complete darkness for one day till it stands up straight, then directly under the light. Man I haven't lost one seed since I first started doing this.

I havnt lost seeds really till now as well I havnt changed anything either I musta over looked something lol why do u put em in darkness for 24hours after planting? I usualy put my light on once there planted

So do u let them keep germinating till the stem pushs the shell off? Then plant the tap root and leaf the leaves over the soil? Arnt u afraid of hurting the tap root when it's that long and the leaves already sprouted?

I normaly soak for 18hours in 75degree water and leave in darkness. Then the paper towel method. For 3-4days till the tap root is about 1/8inch long then I plant her about 0.5inch deep Gentaly cover her with soil and turn my light on to a 24/0

Man I thought placing them in the dark was weird too! A friend of mine watched a video on YouTube of a fella who does this and swears by it! I gave it ago and was amazed to see how much colour and movement the plant had made by leaving it in the dark once potted for a day.
I think it gives the plant time to settle in the pot once you have potted and the roots to grow through the soil.
Give it a test with one of your plants one day and you will see what I mean. It certainly works for me! Good luck!

Yea I sprout them till the shell comes off or till leaves are sticking out the side!
No not really but I am very careful tho. I use a pin or a paper clip to scoop up my seedlings off the paper towels. Depending on how long my tap root is I dig a deep wide hole and place it in lightly, root down. I slowly fill in the medium over the root with my paper clip, but I do not compact the soil down. I water it with a spray bottle and it seems to sink the soil down and fill in any open gaps under the soil which then hugs around the root.

he's using a light, either way seeds will germinate in complete darkness and it isn't a necessity until the seedling has broken the surface but the added heat could help speed things up.

Only for a day to settle in the new pot, then straight under the light. Man what I have read is that placing it in the dark works on growing its roots more. Rather then the top half. Man idk if it's true but when I heard this and tried it I've never had a plant die on me while they are that young and they seem to grow a lot faster outta the young faise. It works for me so I continue to do it this way. Also I keep it on top of my hot water heater in the cupboard! Nice dark warm place for them to germinate too.
Man there is a million ways to do it and non of them are wrong. Just pick a way that suits you and stick with it. I hope this help bro! Good luck man!
